New member and new to Subaru

If your just mapping for fuel and not performance you should be ok as jap cars didnt switch to 100 octane until 1998. Run it on e5 from maxol you should be grand.
Remap transforms the car but well worth getting done.

Welcome to the club.

As Dagnut said above 100ron fuel was only brought in 1998. I ran my old 1996 WRX for nearly a year on E5 with no problems. And it is still going perfectly for the lad I sold it too

Initial planned remap was just for Fuel purposes....
However I am going to be adding bits and pieces to a collection of parts to be fitted over the next while and then have them all put on at once.... from what I have read this seems like a more sensible option than adding performance parts as i get them.

in theory really there was going to be a second (and possibly 3rd remap) planned anyway.....

Will see what way things turn out.....

Below is extract from members area regarding clifford, as you cant link into it, i posted it here for ye...clifford alarm should be number1 priority...had an evo3 nicked 3days after she was parked up outside my house 3days off the boat..

A supplier on ebay are doing a good deal...

As i obviously live in Ireland, i couldnt have it fitted by them and brokered a deal to have the remote starter (intellistart 5)

to be included in the price instead of the fitment costs hence an exchange for non-fitment (worth 150pounds)

Got the lot for 299pounds shipped!!

This is the newest clifford alarm but there a few other cheaper alarms supplied by the same!!

As i've read scoobymaniac fits these and is one step closer to being recognised as an official clifford installer so give hima shout!!!

Good man yerself..... I have her being watched closely by someone at the moment and its fairly secure where it is (I think) however we can never be too careful and have planned to fit a nice clifford onto her.... Thinkin Ill add the Black Jax on at some point too regardless of what other safety features are on the alarm I buy......

Cant put too much emphasis on security these days can ye?
