hey guys new member long term fan. Only a student but have 6,000 for a b4 i reckon. will be a regular on track days etc as i will finally have a decent car for it. lookin at 2 at the moment. Car A is a 00 silver blitzen and its immaculate except for 1 minor scratch, lady driver since it came in but its trip tronic and just failed nct for wipers and headlights too high?? next one is 00, black, gold wheels, non blitzen medium rub mark behind right rear wheel, the rest is immaculate and has a crazy alarm that even starts the engine at a set time for this guy every mornin, it has a turbo timer built in to the alarm. I dont think the silver one has a timer, do i need/want one? Anyway their both 6 and reckon i can get bit more off. Can anyone tell me the better car as they both have less than 50,000 mile, or have you got a better idea. Does the triptronic make it a bad drive, will it still be as fast as i want, will it prevent mods. I wouldnt want it only for the year (thikin resale value) plus the blitzen extras. Any advice welcome lads, see ya on the track. Either way should i get it remapped asap?? Thanks

there are sum mint b4s on here i think it would be the only place to buy they will be mapped serviced etc....
i ave really grown onto the b4s and would consider one as my next jammer...
dont just go for the cheapest you see id sooner pay a few pound more for minter... the cheaper could end up being the dearest when you finished....

anyone know j jones, eujapan.com. Irish eximporter, reckons he can deliver a 00 or 01 b4 blitzen, manual,choice of colours for less than 6, vrt etc included just take few weeks to ship??? Was reckomended by exirish importer who still has a web site but stopped bringin them in !!!

Don't know enough about the tip tronic so can't comment there. But the B4's are sweet motors and can be modified like the imprezas, lots of upgrades available.
Do shop around as it will pay off in the long term.

not true at all...you'll get to the limits of the turbos somewhere around 300bhp..after that its big money
Didn't mean you could get the same power from them just that you can get a lot of similar upgrades for them like the impreza

Any car can be modified ffs...your implying there that they are as easy to modify as an impreza which is totally untrue parts are much harder to source and more expensive.
That's from over 2 years of ownership...if i was looking to modify a car impreza would be a much easier choice.

Ah man let it go, I never mentioned cost or limits or how easy it would be, just said there is a lot of parts out there, eg. exhausts, intercoolers, brakes, dump valves etc. just like the impreza. So it is true, there are parts.

Not true at all man, there is endless modifications that you can do to an impreza and endless places you can source stuff. The parts for a B4 are very limited in comparison, and there is very little stuff that will bolt straight on. HKS make some bits but thats about it and its a very limited range. I currently spending thousands on the drivetrain just so i'll have something that can handle the power in future. True that the front brakes off an impreza will fit but you go and see how many manufacturers you can find that will do a set of back brakes for it. You can pick up backboxes for it but there are not that many suppliers that do a whole exhaust system and even less that will do them at a reasonable price.

AS i said all cars can be modified..not getting at you just you mentioning it along with an impreza could be misleading to a new member who doesn't know about subarus to think a b4 is easy to mod it isn't listen to people who own them.
