You said they can be modified like impreza's when they cant. Front brakes and boost controllers fit because they are the same for the impreza. Tell me, what ecu's are readily available for a B4?? I know you can get a mines ECU but you've better chances of winning the lotto than finding one. The stuff you talk about is simple stuff but show me someone who has done a turbo upgrade to their car and what results they've gotten. With impreza's, you know, with a 16G turbo and supporting mods you can achieve in or around an expected figure and the same goes for all turbo upgrades for impreza's as it has all been done before. You could spend thousands on upgrading the turbo's on a B4 and find that it doesnt work well at all. Its unchartered territory so to speak and to say they can be modified just like an impreza is just rediculous.

Maybe not as many parts but there are parts in similar areas, as above: brakes, intercoolers, dump valves, exhausts, boost controllers, ECUs etc.

I never said the list was endless.

All I said at the start was they CAN be modified (which is true) just like the impreza (meaning: this too can be modified)
I didn't go into detail or say they both are the same.

AS i said all cars can be modified..not getting at you just you mentioning it along with an impreza could be misleading to a new member who doesn't know about subarus to think a b4 is easy to mod it isn't listen to people who own them.

Didn't mean to mislead anyone, Didn't mean to imply they are easy to mod (if anyone took it that way, I apologize). Just this guy wants a B4 and I think they're sweet and just letting him know the can be tuned a bit, instead of him thinking he can't do anything with them.

But again, NEVER mentioned costs or how easy it'll be to get parts or to work on them.

As the lads above have said - the B4 is a great car but is limited on what mods are easily available.
I'm not sure if it would be the best car to buy if you were planning on putting it on the track alot - IMO a typeR would be a better option.

Now maybe there is a reason you need to buy a B4 (insurance etc) so maybe a Impreza is not an option :dontknow:

i work in my family car sales and we have a 99 Subaru Legacy B4 ,silver ,44,000 miles on clock ,would sell to a member for €5500 or maybe a bit better than that if you are interested ,that would include a new NCT which iv yet to put the car threw.

Well lads i got a 99 black b4. no idea it would cause every honda to try it on :mooner:. Im well happy i think 54,000 miles only 7 in this country, completely standard i think but a great alarm
