Hey guys & gals

Name is Jay

I rode bikes for years and finally decided to switch to the dark side so bought myself a cage :icon_pray:

98 Suburu Impreza STI

After having the car about a month, honestly i have to say i LOVE IT.. Used to give out about cars being in my way ripping over the Wicklow gap now bloody bikes are in my way

Couple of questions i need to ask you guys

1) What engine oil should i use

2) What spark plugs are best

3) What brake pads are best (looking to get at least a year out of em)

4) What tires are best (looking to get in and around a year out of them)

5) What fuel is best for my model (Jap import) think its an R4 not sure

6) I have a large hole in the dash from a radio that was previously there.. i Want to get some clocks installed.. can you recommend anyone..?

Thanks

Jay

welcome DAKTORIAN!

what a kool name sounds like sumtin from star wars,
have patience there will be lads on with plenty of advise for u,

gretts.

Welcome along

1) Engine oil to use 15w 50 fully synthetic,

2) Ngk pfr7b plugs for modified cars and ngk 6s for standard

3) Everyone has there own opinion on brake pads but EBC redstuff or Feredo would be the best ones

4) Toyo T1r or Goodyear eagle f1 great tyres

5) Maxol e5 which is 99 ron if lads can confirm this? if its available in your area. if there is ony 95 ron available where you live then you will have to get it mapped either for just 95 or with booster only nf and lucas work, I dont know what version your car is but if its a version 4 you will have to buy a new ecu like apexi power fc, simtek etc, contact dave @ sti tuning he is in the traders section

6) I dont know :dontknow:

I know that name from somewhere... Or at least one like it lol

Welcome to the lighter side of life where its not quite so cold and windy in the winter....
Quite a few of the lads here (myself included) had the same questions when we all signed up.... Do a few searches round the forum and ya will get loads and loads of information.

Contact one of the site traders (CDA, STi Tuning etc) for information on clocks, I take it by clocks ya mean guages? Boost pressure Oil pressure etc?

Alot of people will swear by different brands, Do a bit of research into them before ya buy them and try to avoid cheap ebay crap as allot of these are unreliable or just blatantly lie to ya....

Take care of the car and keep it between the hedges

Welcome along fele!!

Defi are seemingly the top for gauuges but you tend to pay for them all the same.

I think Nick in Couture on here stocks them so could be worth getting onto him..

Alternatively www.nengun.com have defi gauges but you have to buy the sensors and link box for them so all in all quite expensive!!

Welcome along Jay,
I may have overtaken you going over the gap at some stage,
Feckin love that road!
Good to have you along,
One of our longest standing members has just sold his scooby to get a bike, so fair play for balancing things out!
As the lads say above, do forum searchs and you'll have more info than you can take in, ring around the traders and see who you get on with!
They're all sound lads
Dan
