new my arse . or am i going mad :ponder2: :ponder2:

Seen load of other pics of this and seen from front can see quite a few big changes (probably helps I had a R56 JCW).
The grill is now something that just cries out for a "Clarkson-facial-expression-ridicule" as is a mix between bloody Iron Man and Dr Who's Cyber Men... saw pics of JCW Aero kit and not pretty either! :puke:

On the upside... now 2 litre JCW instead of puny 1.6 (with its coking and timing chain issues!) and available in AWD! :icon_headbang:

Oh and cabin much better laid out and nicer facial / controls etc... can at least see speed when driving instead of having to look somewhere down and in the middle of car... causing you to mow the pedestrian out of it while you were checking you weren't breaking the 50kph speedlimit like in the older cars :wall:

There's only one real Mini! This is my 1964 racer...slightly smaller than the new model!

That is lovely Neil! What engine are you running?

I LOVE Mk1's... I plan on rebuilding one some day as I had a few over the years and really miss them. Problem is that MK1 shells are like hens teeth now and going up in value rapidly.

It's a race spec 1380cc motor (around 115bhp) with straight cut gearbox and lsd. My Legacy is probably quicker, but not as much fun to drive!

Mk1 shells are indeed getting very hard to find...I'm constantly on the lookout!

What Mini have you got Lar?

One of a few I owned... and probably the best. Not a real Mk1 by any stretch... but a decent rep. I bought it in late 1999 with 13k miles on the clock.

Yeah that would be the same car
I think a lad bought it off him who lived in foxrock
I bought it off him and restored it
If you could that would be great always wondered what happened it

Your name looks familliar Neill do you live in stepaside and used to have a audi a4
If so I think I bought parts off you years ago
Cant even remember what parts its so long ago

I think I know you too Neil. Name is very familiar. I used to live up Stepaside way bout 10 years back... family are from there. Do you know Simon Evans and Lloyd Hutchinson from Delgany neck of the woods? Big mini heads!

I'm getting scared now :icon_omg:

I know Simon and Lloyd very well. Simon looks after my Subaru for me! Have you seen Lloyd's Mini in action recently? It's mental! Simon bought Lloyd's previous 16v car from him so they're both running very powerful cars now.

Small bloody country! :icon_biggrin:

I've known Simon for a good few years... along with a lot of the Delgany/Greystones heads. His co-driver Barry is a good mate too.

Haven't seen Lloyd in years.. but have heard about his car. He used to do a good deal of work on my own mini for me years back.

I'd love to see your Mk1 some time. Let us know when you're racing it next.
