Lads,
Seen 2 new STi on the road over the last few days and I have to say I am not at all impressd. The back in particular is pure ugly .
Also I love dual exhausts on cars , but the quad exhaust looks like it was stuck on by some little Max Power gimp...
 
I think its fair to say they ruined the scooby and its anyones guess is there anyway back for it. the guys at mitsubishi have prob designed the best evo ever and what does subaru do bring out this new gargoyle of a car. subaru as well to bend over, take down their pants, lube up and take it right up the #=*&# from all at evo...................

its a modified car.. all the other model sti's you didn't have to do that with it for people to like... it reminds me of that makeover program where they get some ugly bird give her a face job,new nose an teeth and turn her into a stunner.. still darn ugly to start off with
 
how much money would you have to sink in2 it 2 make it look good like that definatrly not in2 it at all and i have to say if i had to pick that or a new evo i would have to pick the evo i really dont like the new sti at all
 
Sorry lads i can't agree, I love the new look Impreza
and can't see why everybody hates the rear so much ???
Plus as most of us like to mod or change our car in some way or another
it's great to see there are already so many options for spoilers , body kits etc...

Its getting easier to look at, or I'm just getting used to it.

Those wheels do nothing for it though, and the rear lights are gak, get the rear lights that Litchfields have put on that new type 20 :ponder:
 
That modified Impreza is just a tarted up WRX (see the back of the car ....."S-GT" which is the Jap spec WRX).

The new STI looks best in dark Grey or black with the 18 inch optional BBS alloys or the 5 arm 18 inch silver wheels and the Recaro bucket seats as the OEM ones are too flat and thanks to the side air bags have little in the way of hip and shoulder support. I think it must also have the optional front projector fog lights and Litchfield type rear light cluster modification.

Having said all that the new EVO is damn near perfect straight out of the box apart from the disgraceful tail pipes which are tiny pea shooters with stuck on larger effect chrome exhaust pipes. They'd really have to go first but everything else is spot on IMO.

I wonder if the new EVO sounded like a classic scooby how many of us would even give the new STI a second look :dunno: The new STI sounds pretty ordinary by all accounts and fitting a big bore exhaust will only marginally improve it at best or at worst just make it loud and ordinary. So, my perfect spec new STI would also have to have an unequal length manifold making it cost just under 80k all in.

At that price RS4's, 911's and M3 CSL's are all on the shopping list and none of them are one trick ponies :smokin:

Would have to agree with ye there alrite, how much would ye have to spend to get it lukin like ye want it, think the blob eye will be staying put for the foreseeable future :D I do like the new one although I'm still having major issues over the back lights and in fairness them Cusco colours would make a lot of stuff look nice
 
EVO's dont feel as well made as impreza's never have IMO..the new EVO is ugly aswell dont like it at all..but if i had to choose id take it over the sti...all good looking hatchs are 3 doors with the exception of the leon

it just annoys me more than anything else..how can your new model not be as good as the old one
 
got a mag threw door the day bout the new sti n this guy says hes owned 3 scoobys now and the new sti is gd :wall: this is his exact words " its new but you still know youre in an impreza thanks to the traction,grip and performance. thers the flared wheel arches and bonnet scoop that let you know its an sti, though this new one is a shade more discreet and the rear spoiler doesnt interfere with rearward vision now. perfomance is unbeatable and its great value. i like the extra interior space and more room around the foot pedals. in fact, everything seems just that bit better than the old car and i like the extra safety and security equipment. " what a load of crap its looks rubbish :shoot:
 
Think he is trying to convince himself more than anything. its an average to ugly car and gone totally off the design that made it a favorite on our roads. the evo has surpassed all predecessors and i dont think the subaru will or can compete with !!!
