Its taken so long I think a lot of people might not really care so much any more. Also the automotive world has moved on so much since this car was first mentioned that there is a risk that its design and emissions might already be out of date even before it turns a wheel in anger.

Can anyone find anything credible about the 2013 new STI and WRX other than them being unique stand alone models separated from the new Impreza which was launched earlier this year in the USA?

Price will be the be all and end all, Subaru/Toyota have no point in coming into market at M3 and Porsche price range..
And with Irelands VRT, Tax scale id say it will just be crazy money

Good point, price will be key and in Ireland no doubt the price will be brutal. When I heard Toyota were remaking the AE86 I was excited but I'd say the end result won't echo the spirit of the original. Hard to see a market in Ireland for this Toyobaru.

Subaru BRZ
Tokyo, August 23, 2011 - Fuji Heavy Industries Ltd. (FHI), the maker of Subaru automobiles, today
announced that Subaru’s new rear-wheel drive sports car, which is currently under joint development with
Toyota Motor Corporation, will be named “SUBARU BRZ”. “BRZ” stands for “Boxer engine”, “Rear-wheel
drive” and “Zenith” and embodies ultimate passion for the new sports car and confidence in its distinctive
trademark and core technology: the “Horizontally-Opposed Subaru Boxer engine”. The start of production is
planned for spring 2012.

I am afraid the Irish VRT and tax wont make this car a big seller here but hopefully the new modell will make enough profit at other markets to FHI to keep and further develop the IMPREZA STI
