There is a turbo version to follow..they are talking about 180bhp and 1200kg which gives it around 150bhp per ton..an STI has just under 180 per ton...plus it will lose less power to the wheels being RWD
The thinking behind an N/A is it will have better throttle response and will be easier to control on the limit with RWD.
The turbo version should be seriously fast but should be a match for a Cayman, 350Z ,TT etc

i agree a turbo will make it fast but no different than a impreza, so to expensive to run.

the N/A would need to be 200bhp and to weight a tonne for it to be a good sports car.

150bhp per tonne is not bad especially considering its going to be around 20k sterling....very difficult to get any modern car at 1000kg considering all the safety regulations they have to meet and standard equipment need to make its consumer friendly.
The new Elise is 900kg but they have fcuk all in them and only has around 135bhp plus they cost around 30k basic..I think this car could be a surprise hit.
