New to Subaru for 6 months

motor is lovely!
Whats the diesel boxer engine like?
Is it torquey?
Have been thinkin of lookin at 1 for the missus

Hammie, its a super engine. Torque figure is 350Nm which is exactly the same as the 1.9 engine I had in the Alfa (same bhp aswell). However, it delivers the power a lot smoother than the Fiat engine and there is no torque steer. Apart from when you start it up, you wouldn't know its a diesel as it runs very like a petrol apart from the shorter rev range

Just hit 10,000km recently and it seems to be starting to open up a little. I've read and heard that the more miles put on it the smoother it will get.

I was up in C&R this morning and they still have some of the outgoing models in the showroom. That new legacy is a dogs dinner

typically on my daily commute the trip is saying 6.6, but on long journeys I've mostly seen it at 6.0, once it went down to 5.8

Even with only 5 gears, at high speeds it doesn't sound like its revving too high.
