Petrolheads
Im thinking of changing the wheels on my car and am in 2 minds as what to do!

Should i go white or gold?

Is 17's or 18's better? Currently running coilovers so suspension good and stiff.

17's 40 profile tyre

That would be my option!!!!

Why not 18's tho Hammie? Wanna a good fill of the arches, but will the 18's compromise handling much? I dont drive the car hard and never track it!

I had 18's on my old classic never again, when I got the type r I went 17's
But some lads have 18 on with no prob's but my old yoke would tram line all over the place handled much better on 17's

same as that, There were 18's on the wagon when i got it and it looked good, but the handleing in my opinion was comprimised!!! tramlined everywhere and just wasnt as good as the 17's
If ya want to fill the arches id say a higher profile tyre, but i think the 17's look well on them!!!!!

Whatever you do... don't put 18's on a classic. They are a nightmare. Tramline... scuff inner arch... hit arch lips... and if they aren't a lightweight rim they destroy wheel bearings!

I'd go 17's in white... or matt black! And a set of lowering springs if you want to fill the arches better!

first pic ,super lookin wheeel , inovite copy of rota grid , lovely wheel but im not a fan of that shade of gold , too dark imo. needs to be lighter !

I think 17s so based on the advice given. Just a matter of picking a wheel now!!

Its kinda between the first 2 at the minute.

Please Jesus, anything but white!!

Who such a dislike of the white robbie?

In my opinion, white only looks good on a white, silver and some black cars. Really don't think it would look good against your blue.

Also, you'll need to clean them everyday or they'll be covered in brake dust and just look horribly dirty.

Personal taste, I'd go for the first set every time, I like the slightly darker gold

Now they are nice white rims!!! Thanks gary. Your car is lovely with the white rims. Do you find yours hard to keep?

Any opinions on these:

Ya brake dust shows up but depends on your pads and if you give the wheels a few coats of wheel wax it should come off handy enough(I havent got around to doing it yet)
