Howdy all, new to the Subaru crew. Have always been a big car man and some of you may know me from Backroads where I would be a regular user (vinnymcdonnell over there). Have a GTR as a summer weekend car, boring diesel as the daily so decided to get a regular usable weekend car

Have always been a lover of the pre 2000 GC8 version Impreza's and decided to treat myself this xmas and buy myself one. So won a clean Jap STI impreza last week at auction so now just the long wait to get my hands on it! So between now and then I'll be asking a few questions :D
 
I saw this on JDM imports and thought it was a lovely looking example, well wear, some fleet you have now.

It's supposed to land in March but with my luck probably May! :icon_grin:

Hope its a good one anyway, it just passed its Shaken which is very rare for a car in auction and main reason I went for it, also the fact its a standard car apart from the exhaust and only marks showing up is door ding on the drivers side. Will get a bit more entertainment from the flat 4 burble! :thumbsup:
 
All I know from the shaken is what I learned from mike brewer on that trading up show he did, and that shaken makes cars a LOT more valuable over there. Plus its a nice piece of mind for you, was it grade 4.5?

Must be mad having to wait so long to get it over here, but im delighted to see another proper scooby landing on our shores!

Yes the shaken are very strict so in theory it shouldn't have any problem flying through the NCT!:icon_biggrin: I'm going to get an ECU in japan too so it can be mapped straight away for my own piece of mind!
Well when I got the GTR it was a 6 month wait before it landed on these shores!! It didn't bother me too much mind as I was working in Sweden at the time so wasn't around anyway. I'm hoping however I won't have such a wait again!
