Howdy all,

Bloke here from Tipp after buying my second Legacy Turbo ... Sold my E60 530D last week - company van on the way so the B4 was bought rapid as a bit of fun for the weekend.
Its a 2001 with 120k kms on it ... no history, body is mint, interior smells of dog but its all there and not chewed. Bumpers are mangled a bit, need to be painted, alloys are poor. Definitely not a parking expert previously.

I had a 99 B4 back in 2007, loved it but long distance driving killed the wallet ...

Can ye lot advise me on Timing belt options, whats best to buy, fitting wont be a problem.
Also, have any of you tried to lengthen the suspension to make the ride a bit softer with more travel ... (I know, I should have bought a forester)

Welcome along fella, be careful with that splitter if your stuck for ride height, expensive to buy new and hard to come by. If its standard suspension you should have loads of clearance for everyday speed ramps etc

:welcome: :welcome:

Nice B4  .. Don't think there's any way to increase the ride height without new longer springs and shocks and don't believe a forester suspension would fit anyway. You'd turn it into a boat if you did anyway, would not recommend it.

Timing belt go genuine subaru belt and tensioner

welcome along  nice looking legacy it looks standard ride hight doesn't look that low being honest :dontknow:

For timing belt:a gates belt, ntn tensioner same as genuine one but no Subaru on the box and way cheaper than dealer. Also check idlers and water pump for roughness and replace if suspect all available from factors.
Good luck with new car.

Thanks Lads for the welcomes ...

Anyway, week one is over with Legacy II, she's going to Frank Ryan (formerly Subaru) in Littleton for a service and timing belt. Couldn't argue with his price to be honest and he's full of useful info as well. He looked after my last Legacy until the new owner of it blew the engine ...

I'll let ye lot know how I get on ... I need to respray the bumpers and wheels, get power to the central screen display as I've no idea which settings I have the heater on. Does any of you lot know how I'll get it going without the bottom head unit - cd-radio unit ... I have a bluetooth radio fitted at present, is it just a case of getting 12v's to the display ???

Thanks again,
SB
