Newbie looking for a B4 or an Impreza Wagon

Hello folks,

Been looking at the cars for sale here for some time so eventually signed up.
Sold my Clio 172 recently so on the lookout for a new car and had my heart set on a nice B4 after seeing a clean black on in Carrickmacross and again today in Dundalk (OO-G reg anyone?).
Have contacted a few guys and one in particular has caught my eye - will likely need a gearbox (how much am I talking here?).

Also been looking at Impreza Wagons but I think the B4 will be easier on the pocket for insurance.
Are the STi Wagons as hard to insure as the saloons?

Anyway, looking for a good buyers guide for the B4s if anyone can point me to a link.

id let this lady off at the right money , as it looks like i will be leaving the country for work soon , . iv just fitted a new radiator,coolant and front brake pads.. :subaru:
 
Was actually looking at that one when it was up for sale on DTD Irl.
How loud is it Colly?
That's my biggest worry with the Scoobys. I'll be using it as a daily and using it for customer meetings at work so I can't afford to have a loud exhaust.
What sort of money would you be considering for it? PM if you want.
 
I don't think it's that loud at all paddy . Just a nice Subaru rumble .. I hate loud cars myself . Cruising at 60 an even lower speeds it's sound ,, I can't seem to pm u mate , it must be because your a new member . Give me a text and we chat 0861037758
 
Have a look through the for sale section here-that way the members will know the cars. i wouldnt buy a car needing a gearbox-theres plenty of well maintained ones that need no work.
 
Mate of mine selling a b4 here at the muinet lad if you want a bit of info on it €1200 with out test or €1500 with test just needs knock sensor and a drop link for the test

I have a knock sensor there and a drop link that will get it through if you need ?

You'd probably be looking at near €5-600 for a second hand gearbox fitted. You may also get stuck for a new clutch when its pulled out and inspected.

I'll send you on a spec an pics tomorrow lad he hasn't got it advertised has a mobile tyre fitting buisness does the tyres for the prodrift lads and his merc sprinter van is falling to bits rot box so has to bye a new van leggy has to go ill text on spec in the morning an pics lad if it suits you well and good if not no harm done
