Well he was McRea's co-driver until Subaru gave him the push, or so the story goes. Although I can still remember the last event he was with McRae in the WRC, when he got the pacenote wrong and McRae crashed out, wasn't a very happy bunny!
I've drawn a blank at the moment as to who the replacement co-driver was, can still picture him though, a baldy chap - David something I think. Too lazy to google it though!
 
Whoops got that completely arseways, Derek Ringer was before Grist, it was Ringer that got the boot!
 
ya was wondering, cause Grist was whit him last time he was over hear
 
it was grist the got the note wrong in corsica in the focus but there was a row goin on berore that.
