noise in diff

wen ever let up throttle at low speeds there a knock in it, i got under car one evenin and there a small bit of play in rear drive shafts. Is this a sign of it on way out, it just annoyin me. Like to have the car tight in all ways.
 
Im the same lads, only hear it at very low speeds.. i know theres a diff bushing gone but duno if thats it because you hear that when changin gear :dontknow:
 
Only off throttle... if on throttle cant hear it but thats probly because of engine noise.. yea like a dull thump, kinda feels like a bit of resistance when the wheels are turning slowly.. make sense?
 
wen drivin along and come off throttle, its like a clunk. Just annoyin. Wen i got under neath it and try turn the two drive shafts, there a small bit of play so i think it comes down to wear and tear on the internals. Not sure really. Maybe it the bearin inside the diff that worn down or something. Dont really want to get into it incase i do any more damage. Investigate. To the bat mobile.
 
Id change any rubbers on the mounts first-cant be too expensive-sounds like theres play in them and when the pressure comes off the drivetrain the diff is moving and touching something-that RWD one down my way always does it-diff is touching the exhaust.
 
know what you mean mate. I have a bushing gone back there too and when i change gear ie go on or off throttle theres a slight clunk noise alright. but theres another noise like what jamie described that is a lot quieter.. :ponder2:
 
When you drive them on their will be a bit of a slap out of them :thumbsup:
Prob just wear and tear Chris, Does it knock when you reverse and turn ?
