Noise in reverse

lads when reversing in my 00 wrx im hearing what i can only describe as a rubbing or grinding noise coming from the front left of the car, i'm due to get the power steerin belt done but i doubt this is the cause, also when turning the wheels at low speeds you can hear the springs ping is this normal

are there bearings in the top shock mounts???
seen them seize in other cars and cause same problem....
defo nothing to do with the belt!!!!
cant think what would grind/rub in reverse and not be present in forward movement!!!!

should point out i had k sports fitted all round in april they have hardly packed in already would they

rubbing nouise could be the brakes alright, something like that happened an old car of mine.... dont know what the otherthing is tho...

surely it would be in forward motion also!!!!!!!

my car does it in reverse on full lock, not forward. going forward the wheel is going in the same direction as the arch liner and you can barely hearit. you know your hitting it in reverse

well more to the point it does it both ways, but when going back the tread is catching the arch liner and draging it so it can be heard clearly. like every other mechanic, fix every car except my own
