while i had the intercooler off i had a good look well the worse case it can be i think looks like its the air intake pipe to the primary turbo as underneath and on the inner side is in tatters no wonder i was gettin no primary well this has to be the problem as i can put my fingers into it.. only thing is i wud of thought that i wud of got some boost .... im thinkin of doin it myself has any1 on here did it has pics or can guide me dont have the money to pay a garage.....or is any1 selling the turbo air inlet pipe that comes from under the manifold an goes to primary turbo ????

A turbo inlet pipe is e295 euro brand new from dealer and is a special order from japan only so is 5-6 week order..

We stock one of these always so don't have to wait or a second hand one is e150..

Its a full manifold off job to do and would estimate 4-5 hours.

And also renew inlet manifold gaskets when off.

Ok Dave how much are the gaskets??? also are the secondhand inlet pipes mint ie perfect condition dont want to put it on to have the same craic in a few months.... im dreading doin this as it is but havent much choice....how much for next day delivery. for the pipe gaskets and bottle of octane booster thanks again

oh and have you paypal?

That sounds fine Dave can you let me know payment method.... and can you post nextday i rang but no answer thanks

Update

Took me about 3 hours to take strip and get it out an about 10 mins to get the new turbo pipe in to the manifold very tricky with all the fuel lines intangled in it... the garage are expensive but this job is a cnut thats why they charge wat they do,, the solenoid next to the alternator broke as the nipples are really brittle so i had to wait till next day to get this also the breather pipe at back of manifold same thing.... took me 5 hours to get everything back and start it, the manifold going back on and connecting both ends of turbo inlet pipe is very frustrating. well after all this lads still no primary . 1 thing i noticed was like before there is a big sound difference when the primary turbo is workin, it only worked for a second today after a good dogging .... an i forgot how good it sound the proper scooby rumble. well its like before lads and sounds like a tractor as it just doesnt sound rite when like this, cud it be somethin stuck like an actuator wastegate.. im all out now

Jeez still having problems?
:ponder2:

Any way you could get a second hand turbo to rule out the one you have as the cause of the problem?

yeah mate its really annoying me now im thinking of selling it only i didnt get the logbook, i may apply for another, what else is goin to go wrong :(

Turbo is working tho, its just not turning on i had the car at 120mph when it hit the limeter and the burble was back i drove the car easy only slightly giving the throttle a press now an again and the primary was boosting up to 0.5 but if i floor it it will go back to the way it was an exhaust note changes to the muffled crap noise, i can only get it to do this when i hit speeds up to 100mph from a standstil so what ever this does it makes the primary want2 work ?????????????

Lads ive figured it out finally. after closer inspection it is the exhaust valve even though it is moving its no closing the flap enough no wonder i never seen it. its only open a hair id say i tried adjusting it but would not adjust enough so i cut a small amount off the adjusting nut to shorten the gap but there still a little bit in it, i wonder is the flap on the turbo travelling to far to close for some reason, would a turbo be the best way to sort this as turbo is fine other than this, if so could someone guide me through the easiest way of removal thanks again lads oh is is anyone selling one really cheap thats perfect cheers

Exhaust valve? Flap? you mean the internal wastegate on the turbo?

Perhaps you just need to get a new wastegate actuator instead of changing full turbo?

I know the one your talking about, could be just caked on carb thats causing the issue. I'd give it a go cleaning first before going down the new turbo route. Could also be a problem with the actuator or solenoid that controls it also.

@ Andy - Its a butterfly valve on the uppipe side of the secondary turbo that opens and closes between primary and secondary stages to allow/stop exhaust gas spooling the secondary turbo.

Yeah i was thinking of trying something myself but dont know if i need a special piece to fix it, the problem is lads that when the actuator is closed the slight bit of pressure that it uses to keep the butterfly shut, somehow seems to be slipping or have rung as when it comes to the closed position it stops then slips past it dunno whats happening i had the down pipe back with a mirror inside its not tight, the easiest way to explain is when a nut an bolt gets rung by over tightning, well this is the same it gos to close then slips wierd. but no prob with the actuator its all in the butterfly?

Well lads thanks to B4soon, i got the part i need its the uppipe is the part that has the exhaust valve in it not the turbo, which i thought it was. have to fit it 2moro hopefully it will not be too hard an will be back boosting )

Disconnect your battery for an hour. Re-connect and go for a gentle drive using primary turbo gradually. When you've done 30 miles or so give it full throttle all the way up the revs and see where your boost is then. Report back.

ok mate after reseting the the ecu and drove car a few mile then when nearly home gave it some boot seems now to be only goin to 0.8 bar when i floor it in 1st it goes up over 0.5 not sure what to because when it hits 4k rpm it drops below 0.5 then shoots up to 0.8 when secondary kicks in its like theres no boots for a second then comes back on would this be the actuator rod needing adjusting ??
