Not for sale now lads sorry

Re: 98 v5 type-r impreza Not for sale now lads sorry

Was for sale in Laois iirc, could be perfect or could be a reason why mirrors and rims were changed.. worth having a Look anyway, think Billy may done a bit of research on it when he was looking

The buy RA looks like a bargain, cars can be cleaned up...what ever way you look at it your gonna spend money maintaining any 11+ year old car.

Can't find it on Donedeal now, might be sold.

Lads,

Yous are after hi-jacking this guys post - I think robbie has enough posts about a mint type-r that he is lloking for and info on a type-r so probably it would be a good idea to lock this thread and everyone move over to robbie's thread,

robbie i reckon if your waiting for a clean type r your not going to find one in this country. most of the cars are trashed and the really good condition ones the owners are going to probably lock away or keep for good. Most of them are expensive in england alright and i dont no the vrt rate for them but heres a nice clean looking one for ok money http://www.pistonheads.com/sales/2260463.htm
if i were you id stick to your idea about getting a type r shell and building to your spec. it will be a bit more expensive bit it will be well worth it as you will have a perfectly healthy car after the build.

Robbie, Cant really make you out mate - You say you are looking for a mint clean type-r but than when it comes to seeing them you cant get time or dont want to travel..? Not every type-r is in the north/south/west Dublin area mate. You are going to have to go and actually see them before you write them off and presume there are no clean ones left in the country, however I would definetly agree with you when you say there are roough ones about.

Just a thought bro,

Rgds

Paddy

dont think the thread is jacked lad
its redundant now as the car is not for sale so doesent matter
Im sure Robbie will get what hes looking for
id say he knows exactly what hes after

paddy first of all, the lad pulled his car for sale so nobody is hi jacking any thread.

secondly robbie has looked at lots of cars on the net and has travelled to see one car in particular which was described as mint and was a bucket of sh*t. why should he travel all over the country to see heaps of sh*t and wast money when lads are lieing to him.

he's also a busy man with work and a wedding on yesterday so maybe hell start to travel next week or the week after

As said its not hijacking the thread as it is redundant now.

Ok, now down to business... I cant get time to travel across the country at the moment for a number of reasons which I don't have to explain to you. But how about you go get yourself 2 young kids, a number of weekends in a row where you have plans made and see how easy it is for you to travel all across the fooking country. I've NEVER once said I didn't want to travel, not fooking once. I am more than willing to travel to see a car I like as soon as i have the opportunity to do so!!

I was straight up with you on the phone, 100% up front so I don't know what your problem is now all of a sudden. I told you I was flat out for the next few weeks when i spoke with you so couldn't get up to you to see the car and even when i did, I wouldn't be going to complete a deal as I want to make sure I've seen everything that I like before making any decision. I have been simply too busy to travel up to Monaghan to see your car. You seemed to understand this at the time and it was YOUR idea to try and rearrange your plans so you could come down meet me after work. You then sent me, what I thought at the time, was a bit of a snotty text during the week to say if i wanted to see it then i'd have to make time to see it. I gave you the benefit of the doubt at the time because sometimes reading text can come across the wrong way. But its a bit obvious now that you have your knickers in a twist for some reason even though I was completely up front with you about my current ability to travel???? Would you prefer if I lied to you and started fooking you around???

I am fully aware that not every type r in the country is in or around Dublin but they are the only ones that I can get the time to go and see at this moment in time. Going to meet someone 10mins down the road is a bit different than heading off down the country for a full day to see one. Also, I don't think I have to go and see every bag of shite I come across on the net just to confirm they are, in fact, a bag of shite. If I don't like the look of it or spot something amiss, then why on earth would i waste the petrol money to go and see it!!!

If you want to make me out anymore, I am looking for a straight, clean type R. I don't expect it to be factory condition mint but I do expect it to be maintained well and not have been involved in any serious accidents. Mileage is a factor so if its anywhere near 100,000miles, then I will be expecting an engine rebuild at some point during my ownership and I'm not paying big money for something like that (some people asking €7-8k), I would prefer to wait for something with a blown engine to come up and start new with my own, fresh rebuild. If a car has a rebuild, then I expect a full history of it with receipts from a reputable builder and a remap to ensure its safety. Body should be rust free. If the car is modified then it should be mapped, if not then thats just asking for trouble imo and why should i take the risk on something like that? There is more but I've rambled enough for now. If that is asking too much, well then thats unfortunate but thats the way I see things and its my money so will only spend it as I see fit. Thanks for your attention

Have to agree..That should be the guideline for buying any Scooby..

Since this car is not for sale anymore these posts aren't off topic.

I have to agree with Robbie on this, if I have the money (realistic amount ) than I am the buyer and I make the rules.

However KenC is right , if You rebuild a good type-r with blown engine it will cost more that 7-8k

Robbie... don't mind anyone on here giving you a hard time bout being fussy... I think it took me 5-6 months to find a clean wagon, and after being absued a little bought being too fussy and asking too much... I found the right car that was mint and well mantained. Go with your gut too with ads.... I've had 2 wasted trips to Cork after being told cars where mint and exactly what I was after by current owners, only to find them to be absolute sh*t boxes! I knew looking at pics... there was something questionable... but I didn't listen to my initial gut.

And when it comes to buying a type r... be extra fussy. As you know yourself they tend to be a little pricier to repair if sh*t goes wrong with them so ignore all the negative, critising posts... hold out til your truly happy... and go find yourself a mint car in your own time!

It's hard earned fooking money... an no one here has the right to tell you how to spend it!

Drive the car to him, if you're in need of sale....if you're not in need of sale have some patience and some manners.

Hello Robbie,

I dont want to know, nor care really about your commitments as you have explained above.
There was certainly nothing malicious intended in either my text message to you nor my post above, but only a 'throw-away' type comment which you obviously have taken up wrong, and not in the way I intended.

I think it is you who has your knickers in a knot writing big long winded pointless posts like the one above.

Also I would like to say that I have lost respect for you due to the fact that you have to resort to fowl language to express yourself.

Regardless of what you think, I wish you well in your search for what ever you want to buy.

Rgds

Paddy

Ha ha, you're some boy.. I know exactly what you intended with your comment thanks very much, it was very plain to see. If you don't want to know about my commitments then don't stick your nose in over my ability to travel.

It's funny, I was even talking about your car over the weekend as I was genuinely interested. But I know now that it's definitely not for me.

Good luck with your sale anyway
