Nur Spec and the NCT

evening guys

so the NCT looms ( well sort of, end of Feb its due)

and i have started preparations to get it ready, like most years i need some CV boots

but also i need to sort out what to do about the Nur Spec

id say it will fail totally outright these days

and having just looked on Blitz's site they want £78 sterling IIRC for the bung posted

my questions are two fold,

1) would a generic Ebay one in the correct diameter be just as good or is the Blitz one the best to get?

and if that is the case

2) does anyone have one to borrow in exchange for some pint money

no welding skills though I'm afraid

No reason a generic one won't work as long as the diameter is correct and there is a screw to hold it in place. I got the lads in work to make one up for one of the lads and it took his readings from 110db to 55db.

i got an original blitz bung off pro parts in dublin 95 euro great job and has passed two tests with it .i never take it out anymore

ye but you're getting old dec ,iv'e a decat with blitz on mine and the noise is class nct tested at 122db,i never put the cat in for the test where are ya based man i have one there ya could have a loan of

Are you getting it tested in Ennis.

I have a bung in my exhuast but not sure if it'll fit your, I'll measure what size the pipe is !!
I'm in clarecastle, call in for it on the way to the nct !!

the internal diameter of the tail pipe is 100mm, and it fits quiet snug in there !
