Nurburgring s2000 banned

I think it was more the overtaking on the right would the major issue there. Its a dangerous enough place without doing that

I wouldn't be so quick to condemn him.

Watched the full lap that he was banned for, and yes - he could have given the orange E30 a bit more of a chance to pull left for him. Maybe a tiny bit aggressive, but not that severe. He also follows a black R35 GTR when he passes a white 911 on the right - though that looked more like the Porsche driver didn't fully understand the track ettiquet. Final straw overtaking the 2 x 3 series BMW's when already past the gantry? Maybe all 3 offences were deemed to be more aggressive than management would tolerate?

Other than the 3 incidents listed he looked like a pretty decent pilot who knows the track fairly well. He was lifting where needed, hitting the kerbs in the correct spots for a good line, appeared to give slower cars (other than those mentioned above) adequate time to see him and get out of his way.

Also watched the video he uploaded from the following day. Again there's one overtake on the right (white 1 series BMW that again doesn't seem to have read the rule about pulling to the right and not the left to allow faster traffic by). And again he demonstrates enough patience and awareness to allow other cars time to see him and move over.

Maybe they have a very low tolerance for any overtaking on the right on the track, I don't know, but I certainly wouldn't say he was driving like a tit and asking to be banned.

Just my take on it after viewing the 3 clips in their entirety. :dontknow:

ya have to agree with you rob there . Seems a right good pilot who knows the track and not afraid to give it welly but he did pass twice on the right and maybe they are not putting up with that anymore.
on another note doesn't that s2000 go like stink, a right mover it is

My opinion is the ban was totaly right done a few track days and if the rules arent followed it can be seriously dangerious 101 if your slower than the car catching you get right as soon as safe and signal and always watch you mirrors or give it to your passanger if your quicker than car infront wait till they clear and its safe to pass then take the pass without abit of track manners it can all go majorly wrong and ive never done the ring but its not the kind of place for driving like your in nascar

I think it was for cutting up the safty car with the flashing orange lights on the second corner looks like a bollard on the track there aswell . Quick lap all right But maybe he was reported By other drivers As well as he gave some cars no chance to get over to the right :naughty: it's not a race it's an open road If he wants to race he should enter a race series . The red mist came down and we went for everything

I totally agree that if rules aren't followed then its a recipe for disaster. And if the track has a black & white policy then the ban is indeed justified. The fact that it was only for the rest of the day on which the incident occurred to me suggests it was bannable, but not too extreme an offence that would warrant a more severe punishment.

However, in relation to your 101, where do you draw the line? A place like the 'Ring regularly see's first time visitors, and not all are sensible enough to take notice of ALL the rules in force. If a car pulls to the left to get out of the way are you supposed to stay behind it and just hope that they eventually wake up and pull to the right? Much like following the fool in the outside lane who's trundling along at 100km/h on the motorway when there's no traffic on the inside at all - just how long are you expected to wait before you've had enough and undertake? I'm not dismissing the rules by any means, I've driven the 'Ring and know just how dangerous it can be, I'm just making the point in the interest of reasoned debate.

Like I said, he didn't really give the orange E30 much opportunity to move right so if its a case of Black or White then the ban is fair enough. But there were 2 other incidents (white Porsche 911 & white BMW 1-series) where the slower car appears to make a definite move to the left to get out of the way. Whats the guy to do when that happens?

Yup well made point and i agree guess im trying to say a little less agression and he and others will live longer guess that on the ring open days u get some people unaware of the rules. However thease in my opioion are the drivers to try pass safley as they are liable to do anything just like the muppets in the outside lane stuck at 100kph piling on the max attack pressure could make them go off and take you out too.

Like said before its not a race series

Half the boys on the ring are chasing lap times and the morons holding people up are constantly causing more problems than the lads going flat out. If your not going fast enough get outa the way. Saying that, the guy behind needs to give people a chance to move over too. Ideally to the right but that may not be ideal for every corner. I think the ban wasgivenfor being a high risk of an incident occurring.

they were right to ban him rules are rules they are there for a reason to keep it as safe as possible this guy thinks he is in a race for a championship or something, lads like him cause accidents ,I don't mind a bit of aggressive driving I have been known to do it myself but ya don't pass on the right full stop......
