Re: Bad Nurburgring Crashes Thread
ye I can see that lads will learn from it but also it scares the crap out of lads and puts them off going ,which in my opinion means missing the trip of a life time ,iv done close to a hundred laps of the ring and one thing I always do and always tell lads with me is to respect the ring at all times and never think you know it cause you don't it will surprise you on every lap even after lots of laps ,and the thing with the ring is if you go off its goin to be big because of the speeds involved and lack of run off space, that's the reason I tell everyone to drive it at 75% of what you think you can drive it at ,never mind lads telling ya and posting online that they have done 8 min laps ye sure they can be done but at what cost if it goes tits up, only thing iv ever damaged at the ring is brake pads and that's because I don't push outside what I can control ,that's not to say I wont have an off but in my mind iv have left room for error and am less likely to have a big one because I never push it .even doin 9-10 min laps is brilliant craic and a huge thrill its not about times or great videos ,its about visiting the most treacherous race track ever built and because of someones great idea its a public toll road and lads like us can follow in the same racing lines as the likes of Jackie steward, nicky lauda ,and all the greats who have raced and some have died there its an emmence and rare thing to be allowed to do that wont last for ever with health and safety and the looming private ownership by viktor kharitonin.
