Oh Christ.....WRC down the pan!

Link there to the fiesta WRC its even worse,they've turned it into the "granny-wagon" rally championship,the likes of mccrae,makinen,sainz,burns will be thinking why did they even bother if they're gona fu*k the sport down the drain?!

lol, :doh: WTF are they on about!? A 1.6L Turbo will absolutely murder a 2L NA all day long... and a S2000 class car will compete in the new "WRC Cup" rather than Group A or whatever they are going to call the premier class... so they won't be competing against each other! And there won't be any 2L turbos in 2011 either... So... :ponder2: Get your facts right Pistonheads! :icon_redface:

Both Citroen and Ford have agreed to using a 1.6T engine in 2011 (However, that's on the condition that a third manufacturer sings up to the new regulations!)

I agree that Citroen is an awful looking thing! But the Fiesta isn't tooo bad... :dontknow:

If one or two more manufactures sign up for 2011 then things won't be too bad! (I hope!) So let's not panic just yet! :wink:

Think the idea for changing is to get costs down to encorage new teams and bring back some of the old! More team means more competition which means betters watching!!!!!
 
bring back the days of group b.....
the safety regulation have all tightened up now so there would be less accidents and less likely hood of someone gettin run over by the cars.... Think back to the group b days and ya would have had hundreds (if not thousands) of people on the course.... Cars were no more than a meter away from a wall of people at some stages if not even closer.....

The days of Group B were Rallying's hay day and by detuning and introducing overly strict rules they are ruining the sport for everyone...... Yes there has to be a tolerance for the safety aspect for drivers and spectators alike, but they are killing the sport in my personal opinion....

Look at the way formula 1 went.... It went from almost 1000 bhp cars being able to fight and pass eachother in whatever fashion they liked and they done it safetly to the sport turning into whoever got round the first corner in first place on the opening lap was going to win the race (so long as they kept their composure and the engine didnt blow up)
They need to take a step back and look at what new rules and regulations will do to the sport before they introduce new legislation and rules....

Just my personal opinion and quite willing to be prooved wrong.......

The new regs will be a disaster.No car enthusiast will be rushing out to buy a fiesta or C2 no matter what.Turn the clock back to the 90's at least.Hopefully Ari Vatanen will be in a position to sort this out shortly.Are you listening Ari?
