Hi Guys...

Pretty new to the Scooby world...have my RSK a few months now and absolutely loving it! Time for a service though, one quick question though, is the oil filter for the non turbo Irish model the same as the one on my MY2000 RSK import?

Cheers!

Mike

AFAIK they are all the same, but some one a bit more in the know should be along soon enough to tell you for definate!

Just remember if your doing the change yourself that the filter has to be filled with oil before fitting!

As above,
And use a genuine subaru filter,
They aren't expensive

As stated above, all H4 engines are the same filter

Genuine filters are about €9 with a sump washer. Halfords is more expensive (and no sump washer) :cuckoo:

Here is a funny one for you!!
I showed my bro how to change his own oil last summer, so he can do it himself in future
My bro ordered a "genuine subaru filter" on the web!
He proceeded to do his own oil change, all went well!
He rang afterwards to let me know how he got on, I asked if it was defo a genuine filter, and did it look like the one we put on last year!
He replyed, same shape, but it was specifically for cars with automatic gearbox's!
I said, How the f**k do you know that,
He says, It says "For automatic transmisions only" He thought that it was right because his 01 foz sti is an auto!!
He put a gearbox oil filter on his engine!!
He swapped it for an engine filter the following day!

As above, I use 15, 50 Mobil one myself, in my IMPREZA :subaru:

Steve.

It's fully synthetic. About 50 quid in Halfords for 5 litres

Just remember it takes a bit longer for 15w 50 to get to running temp than 10w40, so give your car an extra few mins to warm up before driving hard.

yeah have 10 40 semi in it, what my mech has told me, he puts it in both his legacys. whats the best make of oil?
