Oil for a forester?

There are plenty of options, but pick a good brand of oil, good oil is a lot cheaper than a rebuild. Most common weights lads are using are 5W30, 10W40 and 15W50.
My personal choice is Motul 300V 15W50.

Get a good quality oil and genuine filter and you can't go wrong. I use 10/40 mobil 1 in my b4 but others use 5/30 castrol aswell, that's for daily drivers.

A daily driver 200-260bhp will be fine on a good brand 10/40 semi syntethic.
We do oil changes for e99.00. Incl genuine subaru filter etc. Motul +e37.50

Hi adam you just recently got that forester right?
Sounds like ur topping up dirty oil there..?that not good as this is your first subaru theres a few things u need to know they are a complicated bit of kit but if you look after them they will last a long time..
Defo first thing when u get a new car drop the oil get new filter on flush coolent check levels and have a look at condition of air filter also change the spark plugs as they are hard to get to sometimes they are left in for a long time without being done this can leed to worse mpg (if u cant do this yourself get it done by someone)
If your not shur of the history of the car Defo do above as preventive maintance as soon as u can a little investment she will run better usually give better mpg
and last longer thats my to cents
