im in the market for a new car,im toying with the idea of a bugeye wrx as they are out there for small money.what i want to know is what opinions have people on a bug wrx over a classic.
any feedback greatly appreciated

newage nicer to drive as an every day car but feels slow towards classic imo

You will always say S**t, why didn't i buy an STi. Unless you buy an amazing WRX. I vote classic for fun(rawer feeling). Newage for everyday(more polished).

@ duffman i have been told they feel slower towards the classic and are a more refined car as well
@ gonzogicken my budget wont stretch to an sti so you're right i will always say why didn't i buy an sti,so i think i will wait for the right classic
cheers guys for the opinions and info its made my decision somewhat clearer

if buying an impreza , surely youre doin it to enjoy driving , and thats where the power element comes into it , buy an sti whether it be classic or newage , both have different charcteristics ,raw v's refined . and also insurance can be a pita to get .
whats your budget and some of the lads on here seem to enjoy trying to find a good example for you !!

best of luck in your search !

cheers mac mac my budget wont stretch for a newage sti i just want to get back into an impreza having been out of one since mid april, the insurance thing wont be a problem i think it will be a classic i am too used to the aggressive raw feel when driving one the newage are a bit refined and dont give you the kick of a classic,i am looking to spend maximum 4k

in my opinion gordon the new age is twice the car of the classic . iv had a classic and i do get what people say about it being raw and a pure drivers car, but the newest one you will get is 10 years old and they are starting to get rusty and most have 10 years of hard driving on them where as the new age at its oldest is 11 and to drive they are far more modern feeling, both my classic and my newage have had the exact same mods done as in,decat downpipe ,blitz nurspec, walbro, induction kit, ngk plugs and a remap ecutek in newage and superchip in classic cause it was a v4. both uk spec wrx,s and i can say that even though the classic was quicker off the line the new age would leave it for dead on a back road and the new age is far nicer on a journey ,you are more than welcome to drive my wagon to see what ya think but thats my opinion after having both ..

cheers for the feedback dec i might take you up on that if ya wouldnt mind,i totally agree with you on everything you said about the classic been old and maybe rusty and hard driven so on,there is a few nice bugeyes out there for small money so will keep searching

I've had a classic wrx and moved to the bugeye wrx I have now and would never go back, it's the overall package from the little things like the inside light that delays and dim's, to the sun vissor over the rear view mirror and the feel of the car, very strong no rattles!

At the end of the day it's gonna be your car, drive every car you can and pick your fav :icon_headbang:

Hey Gordon... if you do choose a Bug... my brother in law is going to be shifting on his Blue WRX UK Wagon (on Irish Plates) shortly.

It's a full service history and is well maintained 2 owner car. Only needs a belt and front discs to sort it out. I'm sure I could grab it off him to show you some time if you want.

J...

I'd certainly go for a newage as said they are twice the car and far more comfortable. Don't forget they have 6speeds over 5 so you can cruise around in them too. I'll keep an eye out for a newage for u.
