Orange label maf any alternative.

I have had 2 of these break on me in the past few month's. Didn't have the money to buy new as they are very expensive, think another one might be on the way out getting fault code 23 and the car isn't idleing right. Is there any alternative or will i have to buy a new one?

Cheers for the link man, went out there and done the ecu reset and it seems to have cleared the fault. Not getting any codes now. Had the fuel pump go the other morning could that have caused a problem with the maf? like tripped it out.

What causes these to go? ive have had 2 go on me now i didn't buy them new. ive got the standard airbox on the car, they seem to last like 2-3 months and then go. Anyone else had this problem?

Maf and O2 sensors are a balls they go regularly , there not cheap , you'll never get a good secondhand one (sure you'd only change it if it was broke :dontknow: )
and any of the cheaper options don't last .

Some of the crap octane boosters can leave a film over the plugs and O2 sensor , which in turn fucks with your MAF other than that i don't know
why they go so often . I have never gotten more than a year out of any MAF in my car :wall:

P.s dose anybody recommend cleaning MAF's or O2 sensor's and if so how ???

A friend of mine was saying medical alcohol works for cleaning the maff,
can be purchesd from any chemist with maybe a syringe to apply it,
i believe people buy it for cleaning cd's, a bottle is about €3.50
