Why would the owner think he was dealing in sterling? I'd say he know it was euro but at the 12th hour decide to push for more. €10500 he should have taken arm and all.

So it could be said the v5/v6 Type R is a superior car to buy even if the two cost the same

Sure is, Ken.

With dccd only, which can't co-exist with ABS in P1, ver5/6 sti is supperior performance wise.

while i understand the exclusivity of a p1 in real terms its a 2door v5 wrx with a ppp on it,i will be shot for that but thats what i think

well no its a v5 sti engine.

so real terms its a jdm v5/6 STi saloon in a 2 door body with cosmetic extras and uk dash layout.

But its still a special edition.

In my opinion owning one of these yokes your buddy was probably getting good value at €10,500. In fairness it would be all of it for the car but it did seem a genuine car. 20 minutes would replace the vent and find a set of genuine wheels and you have a serious car. Bad mistake by the owner to not take the money while it was there though.

was talikin to him today and he told me he declined €14 k for it . :cuckoo: :cuckoo: :cuckoo:

gonna keep it for now . makes me wonder :ponder2:

I smell bull sh*t . Someone trying to save themselves a bit of embarrassment me thinks . Maybe he realised nobody will offer more than 8 k max on it so is going to keep it rather than admit they made an outlandish idea of what the cars worth

Think he is living with the fairies... Special edition or not people are now going to look at the bundle of cash and think i can have a P1, or a Spec C Blob or possibly a Hawkeye... its a no brainer really, as to me a Spec C is a far more collectors car.
TBH i always struggled to understand the P1 being a collectors car, to me it was the UK struggling to put a stamp on a market being flooded with Jap import TypeRs and UK Subaru loosing out on a neesh market..

Put a a mint P1 standing beside a mint V6 Vlimited Type R.. i know i would be buying the v limited, even both were same price, in fact i would go as far as saying i probably would pay more for the Vlimited
