This thread has a lot of issues in it.....  :shock:

Can I firstly say that I think the club is great and thanks to all the lads who put in their own time and effort at no expence  :thumbsup:

I used the club for "web based info etc" initally and found it to be very helpfull with friendly members. But after attending the AGM last week and getting details on a number of meets etc, which are funded / part funded by the club, I think €50.00 is money well spent. Its not a lot and if you intend to go to a few meets, you will get it back as said before.

Can I suggest that when you review the changes in one months time, that you consider an "associate" member as an option for people.

As a number of people see the club as a fourm and not as a culb with meetings etc, the ISDC could charge a reduced fee for "Associate Membership" with access to all of fourm. This would entitle them to access all areas of the fourm, for sale, techincal Q&A etc, but they would not be entitled to discounts etc for club events.

As there is a reduced fee applicable, this should stop people spamming, posting up rubbish etc. As only legit people would be prepared to pay a reduced fee, for all the info etc available on the site.

This might help to resolve issues with people from the abroad or people who have no intention attenting club events etc.

Its only a suggestion....  :dunno:

As for people undercutting other people - well that's their business and it's a fact of life in every type of industry... and at the end of the day it's the members who benifit most  :D

I don't think anyone is silly enough to sell themselves out of business so let's not start on the 'I know how much you pay' crap.... that's the traders own business and there is many other factors to take into account... I'm sure Aer Lingus know how much Ryanair pay for stuff but they can't match the price but it's Ryanair who make a bigger profit  :dunno:

me bein a non memeber and i am getting rid of my car but have bein here alot and went to 1 or 2 of the advents with the isdc only reason i never became a member was because to lazy to go and pay the fee i think its well worth the money but u do have traders posting and just bein members dont no if thats what your tryin to stop i no one fella who buys parts to make money sellin them on here because a trusted member gets away with it but not fare on other traders who pay there fee's so after u sorted non members from posting would this be your next thing to fix or once a member its ok

I'm only a member for less then a year now and have been lucky enough to make it to most of the events since then, I think that the club is ran very well by the people that give up their own time to keep this site in check and get the events organised. It is well worth the €50 member ship and I'd just like to say that I think Micheal's idea is a good one, as niall said i'm not going to go into anything else that was talked about as it for the commity to sort out. thanks again for a beltter of a year lads.
