what is the world comeing too????

• It clearly states WHY you can't post Gerry.
• You also received a private message explaining why.
• You also posted in "Non-Subaru Parts For Sale" to avoid the new rules.
• You also have created this topic to whine rather than respond to a private message.

You seem quite clear to want to help 'one another out' but the new rules are for the good of all club members as has been very clearly explained.

its to stop people coming in to the website, saying hello, posting crap just so they can get there count up so it looks good when they go to sell somthing, then selling crap, and f:(king off and never to show ther faces around here again. the club is an Autotrader (even non subarus are being posted up for sale) the 'for sale' and 'wanted' section imho should be for selling parts and cars to other members were it would be more beneficial, basically it will stop the section filling up with sh1t (not that thers sh1t in it at the mo or anything). i mean how would you feel if you were runing a non profit car enthusiast club, say an Evo club or somthing, and new members kept signing up to the forums so they could get a quick sale out of it, then out of dodge with them, i wouldnt like it.

this was all discussed at the AGM and i think it came to a mutual group decision by our comity and 'fully paid' members that it should be moved.

i could be wrong about this, but i expect Daveleggy will be along any min now with some words of wisdom. ;)

stern. stern but fair.

Edit: quick off the mark Paulo!

Well said Norris. This was something that has been brought up by the members of the club which of course are the most important people and why the club is here. There are a few things we will be / plan to move around a change and if the members or someone has a concern about them they should contact one of the committee with the issue and we will look at it or see if anything can be done.

Another reason for this being needed is that Paulo and the rest of the mods have been removing a large amount of junk / spam posts over the last couple of months from 1 time posters. Also there is added safety in buying from another member rather then someone no one knows. Again we will try things out and see how they go.

Well if thats the case why dont u just remove the Sales section from the non-memmbers list. I think its a great shame u removed the Tech and gallary sections. At least i hope u will revue it in a month or so to c how its panning out for u website.

Hey mate, Is there any reason why you dont want to join the club ?. Surely if you value the sections you mention and the Club its worth the 50 euro. :ponder:

Im sure there will be a review after a month but it seems to be what members want.

You say WE????????????????

But you are not a member.........???????????? :ponder: :ponder: :ponder:

Just to remind any non-members but active posters and frequent visitors to the site that we've come to know, that this is a non profit club.... As any member at the AGM would have seen the balance sheet of incoming and outgoings for the club and its available balance...
So for e50 to join the club and enjoy the benifits of subsidised outtings like rolling roads days etc and to have trips fully organised by members of the committee like scoobyshoot out trip this year......  on their OWN time and call expense may i add... For E.G organising best prices for ferries, hotels etc etc
Also the site only forms a small part of it what the club is as a whole...

I think you should consider joining up with the club and seeing what it has to offer.........Wats e50 for 12-16 planned events/trips/meets this year with fellow subaru enthusiests????

i dont think any non-paid member will understand until they've gone to one of the events, the level of professionalism is and effort alone gone into these events is simply brilliant! and i have to say hats off to the comity and everyone involved

So if you don't drive your car for half a week you can get full membership for a year  :D

I understand that some (non-paying) members will have issues in what we are trying to do for full members but at the end of the day it's their interests that get preference....

what i think he means is, as a member of the website which is what it says under his usename. all i can say is please dont set up a divide here lads because i can see it happening and having no benefit to anyone. as a non member i have bought products from members on this site i see this as an advantage to them because it gives them a wider range of buyer "not just members" i myself have decided to join up but will more then likely remain pretty much inactive when it comes to attending events as it's not really my thing, i do however support the site and the way it is run and fair play to everyone involved. if you have a problem with one post members of the site delete their account after a certain period of inactivity....in reading some of the above posts i feel their is a bit of aggression building in one or two of them.....for what??? i think as a non member i have been able to help other users on this site and also been given plenty of advice.......as for the it's only 50 euro to join.......yeah not much but when u see blokes selling their pride and joy so they can pay a mortgage or buy a house it becomes a lot....especially if they only use this site and dont attend events.  :ponder: be fair lads and calm down.

Ok lads - Paulo has changed the For Sale section so that everyone can view it
Only ISDC Full members will be able to start a topic here though ;)

@ 555-Scooby - Thanks for you support by becoming a full member
I know you think that you won't attend any events but trust me you will really enjoy yourself at them - give it a chance ;)

Alan.

@555-scooby

Understand your point but if non paying members get all the same benifits as paid members then no body would join up and pay member fees..............

If no member fees are paid then there is NO club or site.......!!!!!!!!

i agree with you on that, but face it go forward not backward.......lets be honest the old site was s***e so i never used it.....i am a member of scoobynet under the same username since august 2002 but have only about 50-60 posts against my name since this site was revamped i have used it non stop...all i'm saying is dont have a situation were it becomes a "you and us".......i mean u are still going to getting people coming on here who are non members and asking technical Questions, what are you going to do ignore them?? what if some poor bloke turns to this site for help because his engine has blown and is looking to replace it and you just happen to know someone who has one for sale are you going to help him out or not?? common sense prevails all the time.....please dont make this an elite site......rant over for now
