what i think he means is, as a member of the website which is what it says under his usename. all i can say is please dont set up a divide here lads because i can see it happening and having no benefit to anyone. as a non member i have bought products from members on this site i see this as an advantage to them because it gives them a wider range of buyer "not just members" i myself have decided to join up but will more then likely remain pretty much inactive when it comes to attending events as it's not really my thing, i do however support the site and the way it is run and fair play to everyone involved. if you have a problem with one post members of the site delete their account after a certain period of inactivity....in reading some of the above posts i feel their is a bit of aggression building in one or two of them.....for what??? i think as a non member i have been able to help other users on this site and also been given plenty of advice.......as for the it's only 50 euro to join.......yeah not much but when u see blokes selling their pride and joy so they can pay a mortgage or buy a house it becomes a lot....especially if they only use this site and dont attend events.  :ponder: be fair lads and calm down.

There wont be any divide or members V non members at all. 80% of owners that find the site become full members shortly after. I think Dave Leggy summed it up very well in his last post by saying the paying members need to benfit more then the non paying ones. We are puting HUGE effort into 2007 and will hopefully advertising and doing as much as possible to match the amount of new members in 2007 that we got in 2006 which will be very hard based on the success of last year. But without the money from members and sponsers etc then we cant offer discounts on trips and days out etc etc and thats what makes the club great. I promise anyone who spends the 50 euro membership and goes to even half or quarter of the events planned they will have the 50 euro plus more back.

Ehhh so you trying to tell us that you can't afford to pay 50 euro out of your 800 :D

Alan.

Man i wish it was 800, 5 day weeks for me :)

Also only been back in work 2 weeks after a month or so off and the mountain of bills and lends have to b paid off first.

And like i said, its not the 50 euro its the fact im might get rid of the scooby for something more pratical for my needs and doesnt need to b filled up twice a week. Im in 2 minds about it though. Really really dont want to sell.

lol cheers, i can barely put up with my gf 1.3 ka, i feel the anger building up inside when i drive the crappy thing.

555 scooby has my way of thinking, you guys are makeing a divide i clearly am a scooby owner i have been comeing on here since getting my new scooby i have no intentions to rip anyone off its about trust not membership when it comes to that anyone can rip anyone of even fully paid up members, its more of a case of do you trust that person?? but its a catch 20 you cant trust them unless you get to know them, everyone has a gut feeling about everyone if you want a elite club you shouldnt have it on a search engine!!! as for membership fees and benefits to full members thats simple have a members only corner its not rocket science that way the people you dont trust or want to help can advertise and in your eyes rip each other off wi rubbish then you full members are safe?? daft thing is this has all spiralled off a turbo for sale!!! if i thought it would of brought out all the nasty parts of the club out i would of just done what i originally thought and shoved it on ebay!!!! so as much as you peepz say there is no divide open your eyes guys coz there clearly is which i for one have found out and like a few other people have said about membership i live in the uk which meets am i gonna get too?? i would quite happily pop along if they were local i would and do pop on here daily i may not post daily but i am here reading posts and helping or getting in on the banter its just a shame this has all come out like this as i expected more from this club as a whole and not people spitting there dummys out with basically the lines of this is our club if you dont pay your fees you dont have a say, with attitudes like that how can you grow and go more commercial anyway gripe over this will probably be deleted or edited or me even banned from the club which just proves my point?? shall be watching this with open eyes.

No one is going to ban you or delete your post for giving your opinion Gerry. I can understand your point about living in the UK and not being able attend any events but to say we are creating an elite club or saying pay your fee or else is unfair on us. We give alot of our time to the club and running these events takes up alot of time and money aswell. But we do this for the members and to make it the club it is for eveyone. The 50 euro goes straight back into the club and events for the members which is the reason they dont mind paying.

read it 3 times now, which bit am i missing?? either that or i am looking into it to much???

my thoughts now are even if anyone puts up a wanted ad in the forum for a part i have spare which i have loads of std parts which i would happily give away, would that be looked upon as getting rid of my rubbish??? i think not. so the cliche is you can give but you cant sell!!!! anyway forgeting about it now i just wont advetise again weather its benefitail or not to anyone weather it be wanted or for sale its not worth the hassle simple as that, oh and by the way does it mean come a years time and i am still on here ( with probably more posts behind me) which i more than likely will be and on the off chance i do put somat up for sale would i still be wanting to rip someone off then??? you cant tarnish everyone with the same brush, i feel so alienated at the moment its daft.

No one said you are going to rip someone off. Gerry we will look at this after a month again and we will take all opinions and go from there. Id hope you dont leave the forum and hope you are still here in a years time. We are aiming to make it better for the members as this is the Club Website like.

yes it is a CLUB website.......but it is open to non members??? i think Scoobygerry has a point about selling stuff i mean cmon you cant say it's not an advantage to be able to buy parts from members and non members or do u prefer it to be a closed shop with no competition?

What do you mean no competition ?

lads your all going off the point its a scabby 50 euro like every time you fill up your car and its a car club for drivers not talkers

as in certain members are sellers on this site.........do they wish to be the only ones allowed to sell their products on the site.

This is a subaru club of Ireland  that happens to have a website........  Look at it this way please....????

The committee members work hard on their own time and expense to organise events etc etc..............

The website is Free and is maintained by Scooby555 again for free....................

Surely you can see the point that members receive serious benifits for the joining fee???????????

As said before if NON-MEMBERS enjoy the same benifits as Members THEN PEOPLE WILL NOT JOIN....

Hence their will be NO Subaru Club and NO website..............
