Alan.

daylight robbery should have went around the corner for a few mins then back to take it :shoot: :shoot: quick get away car

so alan what a rip off ,so there saying a type r ver 6 is only worth 15000 grand at 30% =4600 but they say open market price of a p1 is 25000 grand fooking bastards

its things like that that make you identify with that guy in England who letter-bombed the speeding ticket offices...
especially the arrogant overtones to the tune of "we have a right to your cash" that you get on the phone from them...

I just end up going straight into "F**k me??? , I SAY F**K YOU!!!!!" mode :)

dunno why some people reckon i have anger management issues though... :p

:subaru: :subaru:

Alan

Sorry to hear that but unfortunately it has to be done to keep things legal....

Was able to caluclate VRT on the revenue website last week for a 2000 registered P1 also and it came up around the same price think it was €7,931. Like you said its around €3000 cheaper for a 2000 registered Type R.

VRT Is meant to be based on a percentage (30%) of the value of the car new in the year 2000 which was according to Evo Magazine was 27,995 sterling to 30k in 2001. (Then add the VRT and calculate the percentage) The same year Type R was not that much cheaper new in Japan at the time.

The rough choice is:
2000 reg P1 with 50 - 70 thousand miles on it standing you about €26,000 or
2000 reg Type R with less than 20,000 kms standing you about €19,000.

7k.... P1 will hopefully hold its value a bit better though

Regards,

Vans
(this is not a P1 V Type R thread just an observation) love both cars

Hello Alan,

Sorry to hear about your ripping....that was very steep

It's the counrty we live in:

You work, you pay tax
You buy stuff with your TAXED money, you pay more TAX
You buy a car with your TAXED money, you have to pay: VRT,
                                                                                Sometimes DUTY
                                                                                Sometimes VAT

Ah yeah to top it off, a bit more tax to make it go with petrol

And just to top it off €500ish for a piece of paper to stick in your windscreen

It begs the question, how much of your euro is ACTUALLY spent on products, goods, services etc  :dunno:

Sorry about the RANT......

I know you will really enjoy the car, IMO its worth it, no matter how f**ked up are tax laws are...... :subaru:

Cheers,

Michael
PS I can't wait for someone to call to my door for my vote this year....
He'd better have an hour or two to spare....

Jebus thats some amount of tax

If i was you i would appeal it, i know a couple of people who have had sucessful appeals and received partial refunds, think you have 3 months to appeal, you have nothing to loose

Alan not surprised at all there a bunch of
fooken b*****ds .............

And that website is a load of bollocks.

I paid €6000 VRT 2 years ago the same year another
lad paid €4,800 for a typeR... fair enough there was 10 months
in the differnce but to top it all another lad paid €4,100 for a type RA

Vans it would be my opion that VRT is an illegal form of taxation and thankfully those
fatcats in the EU agree ................i think it was supposed to be phased out by 2008
but it now has been extended till 2012 ...........i think :ponder: :ponder: maybe someone might shed some more light
on this ?????

Niall.

holy fook...........

thought it was e5600 first time you rang............. you didn't pay it did you?????????????
