Paid VRT on P1 today - still wiping vaseline off!

Had to pay - no choice :angry:... got pulled last Friday :whistle:

It was 5600 in January after the system automatically updated but they obviously 'reviewed' the OMSP and I had to hand out more :hang:

Ah well as one of the lads said.... it's the price you have to pay for a Ltd Edition..... NOT! :computer:

Just to let everyone know.

Ould lad had a meeting with customs and garda. Customs looking for details of all cars with foreign (including n ireland + uk) plates that are around for more that 3 months.Seems that they will be starting a major crackdown.

I was priced at 6500 vrt about 2yrs ago for 00 v6 sti 4dr...
A bit stupid but i think 22B is 4500 VRT???????
I think some of the UK guys really drive the prices of P1 and 22B wrong.. ive seen P1 for any where from 14k sterling to 17k sterling.. and 22B in north for 15k needing attention to 1 in UK in mint cond for 35k sterling :ponder:
just incase you dont know, you can appeal the valuation of car.. think it might have to be within a month of paying VRT do

Yeah I know I can appeal.....and I will try... BUT... You have to appeal in writting and give some official proof i.e. Quotes from Dealers etc.... but how the hell am I supposed to get anyone to tell me how much a P1 would sell for in Southern Ireland or what the OMSP is????

As some of the lads said, a P1 can sell from anywhere near 12k - 18K Sterling in the UK so even if I took the 12K figure that works out at 17,700 euros plus the VRT @ 7,500 = 25,200 euros..... which is close enough to what they are saying :angry:

I'll talk to them..... but I reckon they'd want more than one example.....

And to rub salt into the wounds - I taxed it today and because I registered it on the 28th of Feb I had to pay the tax for Feb :angry: :shoot:

get them all to value it at 19-20k...

i'm sure they will no bother..

I'm not gonna hold by breath on this one as I reckon the odds on me getting money back is fairly small.....

Plus the fact that Carroll and Roche wanted 50 euro off me to give me a quote for my spoiler (they said they'd give it back to me if I got it from them) doesn't fill me with confidence :angry:

Yep for a written quote..... BUT I had to tell them the part number caus they couldn't find it and said it would take a few days :wall:

I paid 5k on mine when I brought it in two years ago.
