Passed Nct

Thanks lads

Dave, Tommy, thanks for the nice comments. When i bought the car over three years ago ther was 152thousand miles on it and sure it had a full service history so took a chance on it and because it was green it was cheaper and got me into a turbo subaru and it now has 180 thousand miles so would love to get more power out of it but afraid because of the miles. Do yous think would the engine have had work done on it or is it possible to get that sort of miles on the original engine :ponder2:

very possible to get that kind of mileage on the original engine to be honest :thumbs up: but pushing more power at this stage is asking for a rebuild imho

never noticed you had that much mileage on it
shows how good these cars really are if maintained correctly :subaru:
I love this car
like Dave I was looking at it at bbq and was very impressed with it
you have it done beautifully Joe
its also my Daughter Ciara's favourite car in the club because it is green
a colour I also think looks great
Happy motoring

Doubt there's any work done Joe, if it was looked after then its no surprise how its lasting.

The subaru boxer engine held the FIA World Land Endurance Record by maintaining an average speed of 138.780 mph (223.345 km/h) for 447 hours, 44 minutes and 9.887 seconds, or 18.5 days.

Anyone who looks after a Subaru will get the rewards for it, anyone who doesn't will eventually have trouble or else sell it to some unsuspecting buyer who will then have the problems that the previous owner caused.

Gosh lads thats some great information there and to be honest i dont drive that hard and its serviced often so hope to get some more miles out of it and sure might go for a rebuild someday and get some more power and re map and anti lag

Colm, delighted to hear your daughter likes the colour, i dont think to many likes the green but sure its something different and i like it  :subaru:

they have no problems with that mileage joe my 97 wagon had 135,000 on it when i bought it i fitted a superchip module, blitz exhaust ,walbro,k+n induction kit and hks downpipe it made 277bhp on the dyno i absolutely raped it for 2years and sold it with 205,000miles on it ,the lad that bought from me drove the heart out of it and sold it on last i heard it is converted to a van and has close to 300k on it and still goin but i religously service my cars at 3000 miles thats the life of them i think. my bug wagon now has 169,000miles on it and is drivin hard and not a sound out of it either

Cheers dec, thanks for that,so if minded right they can do big miles. I have a downpipe and centre section here for it so might just put on the centre section and see how it goes

well i didn't pass the NCT :new_puppy_dog_eyes: :new_puppy_dog_eyes:

ubt not due to any of the point i raised previously in the thread! i failed on the Inner right CV both :wall: such a small thing!

boot is ordered and on the way!! so now i need to retest it!

NOW! question, it is €22 to retest it as it needs to go back on the ramp, but will they do a FULL retest i.e. all the emissions and such forth or just drive it past that bit and straight on the ramp?

i ask as by the time i have a retest date come through, i will most likely have a new decat exhaust fitted :subaru:

It e28 for the retest and they will drive it straight to the ramp for a visual inspection of the boot as long as it is within the 28 days. And remember, to secure a date within 28 days, you need to book within 21. Made that mistake before myself

What decat did you go for in the end?

i have a AVO Japan decat and centre coming, rare! iv never seen one before!

ok thats good to know! ill get rebooking it now
