Paul Nagle being Kris Meeke's co driver in the IRC rounds is down every where with GB beside his name and he is from Kerry to my knowledge, definitely in the south anyway. That drives me mad. Ok rant over. After day 2 they are 4th which is excellent so well done to them both.

kris is a savage driver was only watching this clip today
iirc he was fastest on this stage in a 1600cc car against the wrc machines
some commitment   :icon_headbang:

brilliant clip and a great team. always thought nagle was from around dublin. he has done a bit with gareht and there was nagle sponsorship on anstins white chevette hsr.

Isn't it some rubbish about irish drivers registering as UK for racing licenses. did we have the same problem as eddie irvine appearing under the butchers apron in some events ??? maybe im wrong

typical that the sewer rats from across the pond try to claim him as british.....
happens in every sport though....
:angry1: :angry1:

Ya thats it, When he was training under Colin mc Rae, He got the international licence as part of the GB. Thats why he does be down on the events with GB beside his name, but he puts a Tri colour on the window beside his name too compensate.

Yeah hes from Killarney so no association with UK :angry1:

You may remember what happened with Irvine. They base nationality on what passport you own, Irvine had a british passport so drove under the union jack despite considering himself Irish.

The one time they did fly the tricolour after a win his family back home in Down were threatened. Its great to see secterainism dead and gone :icon_rolleyes:

Never heard this about whatever country you obtained your racing licence from, will check into that

He's from Killarney  (edit: you got there before me Brian)

Obviously no offence meant to our English members I presume.....

Found this.

The FIA's International Sporting Regulations state that drivers competing in FIA World Championships shall compete under the nationality of their passport, rather than that of the National Sporting Authority that issued their racing license, as is the case in other racing series

Its funny but when Irvine was doing good in a race he was british but when he was doing bad or crashed out he was an Irishman :icon_rolleyes:

Nagle does have a very strange accent for a brit, He'll be found somewhere with a beer in his hand, and he'll be Irish again. They are doing pretty well in Monte Carlo, up to 2nd untill a puncture yesterday.

Irvine had the Tricolour behind him on the podium in Monaco.

John

@johnny, i remember watching an f1 race on an english channel once apon a time, Irvine was doing well and he was labeled as a brit by the commentator but on another occasion when he made a mess he was an irishman, i was only a young fella but its stuck with me.
