Petrol going up big time

remember the day we thought we would never see it at one euro, remember my dad selling his mondeo 2.5 petrol because it went past 85 cent/pence a litre

the urge to buy a dirty TDI and run green is tempting but id be too paranoid :hammerhead:

getting high alright :icon_sad: but being honest most of us would loose to much on changing to a diesel well i would anyway. would love a diesel hatch there starting to grow on me  but getting nothing for the wagon so cant justify the trade in price for a few extra mpg and half the tax

thinking of selling the 1.6 as its way too heavy for what it is on petrol, buying a sh1t box fiesta or polo or something for everyday use and getting a proper scooby or silvia turbo for weekends and drive it on a third party extension off the sh1t box :ponder2:

I stopped driving mine 2 years ago as a everyday car
have a saxo vtr that i only use 20 euro juice a week on
being honest i could afford to drive the impreza everyday
but i just see it as a waste of money
i rather drive it from time to time and get the thrill from it
also the saxo is much better in the city
i wont be selling up and if i ever did id just buy another one
but its a toy and not a every day machine and never will be again
petrol will always go up

i drive a focus 1.6 daily and it does nearly twice the mileage as my legacy ,its geat driving to work in the focus and if i come home and going to gym or whatever ill take the legacy

i would honestly not drive one daily not worth it

I have no where to park a scooby up for weekend use only and i dont think i will ever have a scooby for weekends as i couldnt walk past it every day.
My job is moving after xmas so i will wait till then to see what happens because if its a good distance away i will be going back to a vespa.

when i get back ill have to consider same but a fuckin scooter mind

anyone know exactly what kinda percentage the government is taking on this , put 120 quid in the van on monday , half a tank left today , doing serious mileage daily but gotta wonder how much more will the company be able to absorb this into the price of our products and will it cost jobs in the long run

I'm being crippled at the mo in the wagon with fuel... Close on 500 a month (6 fills) due to my long commute... 1600/1700 miles a month... Any further increases in the next while and I may need to rethink our future together.

government taking roughly 55%....
on 1.70 a litre,they take 93.5 cents according to AA yesterday... :angry1: :angry1:

even at 1.54 diesel is creeping up aswell but tesco do 10 cent off a litre when we shop there so its a little help

Stopped driving a subaru daily about 3 years ago, drove a punto 1.2 petrol (42mpg), then a vento 1.9 diesel (50mpg) and currently a KIA cerato 1.6 petrol (35mpg) since then. Now parking up the KIA next week and starting to take her fiesta 1.4 diesel (58mpg) from the end of next week as she'll be getting the train. Have moved house now to try and combat some travel costs. We keep all non essential driving to an absolute minimum and I only take the impreza out the odd weekend during the summer when I know I'm going to have a bit of an adrenaline rush. Wouldn't drive it anywhere with the woman or kids as I'd just be wasting petrol on a boring drive.

Keep the speed down to 100km/h & you'll easily get into the 60's there

I find a big difference with the Honda if reducing speed to 100 km/h on the journey to work

i just got a scooby and fu*k you government! I did my time in 500eu ford mondeo, so i want to live a bit and scooby is not going to go anywhere! :hjtwofinger:

i am doing only 100 miles a week, so for now i am grand with petrol. i would have a lot more mpg, if i would not be addicted to that damn bur-bur-but sound! :angry1:

going off topic i know, but seeing as we are talking our subarus...........i noticed that there was no impreza on the subaru.ie website and no 2011 or 2012 for sale in carzone so i asked subaru ireland what the story was and they said.....

"We are awaiting the new Impreza later this year which will be available in Ireland!
5 door to start and diesel, if there is demand, we may also bring in a saloon but most people want the hatch. The wagon's won't be available in the Irish market unfortunately.
