Petrol V Diesel Prices

Can anyone tell me why petrol is 2cent more expensive than diesel here but if you go up north, petrol is 8pence cheaper than diesel? Was thinking maybe it was the 8cent levy but did that not apply to both petrol and diesel?
 
no, the 8cent levy only applied to petrol.

i was wondering why it took till now for the petrol price to go above that of diesel when the increase was implimented a few months ago??
 
as always, whats the motto they had? A lot done, more to do? the didnt fcukin say it was the public they were going to do, ie screw!!!
 
With the decisions the government are making, things are just going to get worse and worse over the next couple of years... Its a shame when all they want to do is take more of our wages and then increase VAT so the things we want to buy are more expensive too... so then we just go up the north and pay half the price of what it would cost here...

Gasoline prices (petrol prices) are going up higher than diesel on the commodities market :doh:
This is due to refineries in the States reducing their refining capacity, trying to prop up petrol prices in the US as crude is on its a**e :doh:

So petrol as commodity has gone up on the NYSE (Nymex) etc :thumbsup:

Petrol companies in Ireland jump on this, quoting world markets etc..... Despite the fact our fuel is not refined in the US (most of our fuel is refined in the UK, as we have no refineries in Ireland) :wall:

Sorry to bore you...... But this is how they try to justify the difference :icon_blahblah:

the sneaky feckers,how quick they are to raise the prices yet they take as long as possible

to come down like everything else in this country,the govt and banks make a balls of

They'll keep adding charges/levys/taxes onto everything to keep themselves with the same wages/budget/revenue that they're used to.

So they dont have to notice any recession :angry1:

We need to protest! In france they'd block the ports and all sorts if this was tried

Folks,

I dont know about you, but I certainly will be voting the other way come election time. How can they justify paying the like of Bertie Ahern about 4-5 different pensions a year!! And than dispute if a worker that payed their stamps etc should get the dole and means test them. Sorry but i really think the country should unit and get them the F**k out of Dublin castle and Dail Eireann altogether!

got 2000l of green diesel last week for 49c a litre. take the chance stay away from marts and ye can get away for it for years! :thumbsup:
 
a garge owner with a tyre centre not to far from ere had an open back toyota hilux with a dummy air compressor in the back bolted down and plummed in and full of the green stuff..... if they dipped to diesal tank all looked sound... that was a few years ago dont know if you would get away with that now....

I HAVE TO SAY FAIR PLATE OF HIM....... :multijump:
