petter solberg retires

Would be class to see him here alright. But will probley never happen. wrc is dead in the water being honest.

TBH... I only still follow the WRC in the hope of seeing Solberg doing well.

I've lost interest in the WRC it recent years but of all the drivers he was by far the most charismatic and when on form ... the most fun to watch. He has that "no fear" approach like McRae had that makes him exciting... and he was always so honest and wore his heart on his sleeve!

Such a shame to see him have no drive for next year. :icon_sad: A great lose to the sport and another reason I'll struggle to take interest in it next year.

Sad news to hear about solberg retiring and would be class to see him over here rallying round the Irish countryside and as Jamie said he was a brillant driver and had a great approach to rallying and everyone loved him for that

same as jamie , always wanted solberg to do well being an ex subaru pilot and espicially as he won the wrc in the bug . hes had a lot of unluckiness in the last couple of seasons . always had potential to win imo .

just goes to show that even a driver of solbergs calibre cant get a drive without bringing a wheelbarrow of cash with him sad to see hollywood leave wrc

sorry my brain and memory playing tricks on me , was sure both won it in the bug , ah well my mistake .

really goin to miss him from the wrc always wished he had better luck though if some thing bad was goin to happen in a rally it was bond to happen petter. great driver and a big loss

as above will be a great loss to the sport,he had the same all or nothing attitude that mcrae had which is what made him so well liked

TBH i used to watch WRC twice as much as F1 and
now it's the other way round ....................WRC is a dead duck at the mo.

and i reckon it's a big mistake for the WRC to loose solberg , as Jamie said the only
reason to watch was solberg .

Maybe he might come to our next track day :dontknow: :dontknow:
...................might be worth a call lads

NIall.

Hey guys

Petter said clearly on his FB page he's not retiring...
We might see him again on the rally stages ;)

Hello everyone. First off, I want to say thank you. You can't imagine the feeling I get seeing and reading all of your messages and support, both here and via multiple outlets around the web. Honestly I'm always so amazed by it. Especially now, it feels great.
The decision to withdraw from the WRC for 2013 after all of these years was not an easy one. The reality is that no matter how much we were hoping that there was a proper seat for us, it was made very apparent that there was not. At this point in my career, I had to make the call. I had to step away for now, and make a change.
The main thing that I want you all to realize, is that my statements and actions should by no means be viewed as me retiring. This is my life, and I'm definitely ready and prepared for more time behind a wheel, and more success.
With all of this being said, I also wanted to confirm that we are working on some very exciting plans for 2013, and I look forward to sharing that with you as soon as we're able. It's going to be a fun and competitive time for all of us. I promise you that..
Thank you again. Never Give Up. - Petter
