Pics of the Leggy

@ Spalding, yeah mate i had a look at a 03 white one they had, + that 04 silver one, i ran away after the mechanic checked out the white one, it was a shed altogether. to be honest i didnt even get him to check the 04, as everyone on this will tesitfy, stay well clear, but if your gonna go 4 it, have a proper subaru mechanic check it out top to bottom.

Cheers Dossie01, finding a Subaru mechanic is the next step alright...
Anybody know of one that's willing to go out there?

How is this J#$ C^* place still up and running? Been hearing the same thing now for a number of years.

Everyone has there own opinion in Ja&c$%s, all seem to be bad, stay well away from the 03 white ols shape one anyway. had more things wrong with it than joseph fritzl. Ciaran Rs ra from ASD was brilliant for me when i was picking my car. great advice, mind u i still owe him a few notes for checking it out for me. will get down soon i promise!!

Well i'm gonna head to see the B4 today, managed to convince my mate who knows considerably more bout cars than me to tag along and give it the once over!
Depending on his verdict I'll either walk away or try to get a mechanic to come have a good look.
Cheers for all the help.
wish me luck!!!

Just back,
Very nice motor indeed!
Needs new brake pads all round and new discs on rear, tracking is off(very slightly), plus will need new tyres by end of year.
The car was brought in to Ireland in Jan 07, but hasn't a service since then(no book and no receipts).
The reg is 04-C-23662: its been floating around here for 3 years so somebody must know of it!!

some wapper exhausts on it too so your looking at sale price plus at least 2 grand for all the service bits, including timing belt kit .then alarm too if it doesnt have one

2 grand!! :angry1:
Thats alot more than I thought!
HHHmmmmmm..... defo need to think this over!
well if you think about it:
600ish for timing belt(unless you know it was done recently which i doubt)
pads all round: 150 + labour
oil change/filter: 60 + labour
rear discs: 200-ish + labour
tyres all round 500-600 fitted
plugs: 50
air filter: 50
diff oils/ gearbox oils/ : 50-ish( not sure how essential that is)

so around 1500-2000 give or take and an alarm for about 500-600

Im sure you get spread it out over a few months but i would get timing belt as the main priority, supposedly the tensioner in these yokes is a weak point. i lost tension in mine and had a bit of a slip but caught it in time thankfully and another lad on here had the belt snap i think. when i got mine i budgeted in 2 grand for alarm , remap and service

Cheers for that Altezza-Dan good to know the approx prices!
It says timming belt was done at 67k... and the guy there said he'd do a full service and anything i wanted done!
I reckon I'd just get the basics done from him(oil/filters and plugs) then bring it somewhere i know is decent for a full job.

get him to do everything so once you dont have to pay for it yourself! I dont know how much i would trust the dealer when they say "we gave it a full service" they might change the oil and filter at most. was their a receipt for timing belt done at 67K?

sorry for going off topic, can admin move this to a new separate thread maybe?

No receipts for anything!
Don't think it had been touched since it came into the country!
Maybe a separate thread would be a good idea ***Sorry for going off topic***
