Stig, that goes without saying, just a bit of humour, obvivously the traveller was a nutjob in the focus especially since he had his wife and kids in it, anyway glad to see the brits are tooling there boys with the right gear and as previously said I thought d scoobie looked d bizz as a police car, very intimidating as opposed to our 1.4 focus, s
All our lads get is 1.6 diesel Focuses... and, best I seen in a while last week was a Renault Kangoo van with 1.5Dci... UK with M3, V70 T5R, STI, EVO etc...
Ah well, at least they're opening Templemore again and plenty applicants too...
no point having quick cars if they cant drive them . need training courses for high speed pursuits. anyone remember back in the early 90s when the guards got 10 sierra cosworts after less that 6 months 9 were wrote off and they sent the other 1 back
@ joe they got the cosworths and hadnt a clue how to drive them seen as most coppers wouldn't drive their finger up their ar5e,they wrote off most of them and sent the rest back
Had one of those Cossies where I live... lasted indeed about 8-9 months and then got written off when they were "testing" her (was a blue one).
Budget was shot... and they ended up having to replace it with a 1.1L Fiesta.
Well if the Gardai were to drive any fast car like they do their Fiesta around here, I wouldn't even give it a few months before it was in need of repair. :banghead
to be fair the problem was they were belong to the state and no 1 was responsible for them so anyone could jump in and take if for the shift without have a clue .
as i knew a guard who was big into his cars at the time had 1 nearly all the time and came back 1 weekend and it was in shite in the garda station car park :facepalm when he inquirred what happened he was told that the tyres were shite and it wouldnt take the turn and it hit the bridge . the origonal good year tyres were still on it with only 8k on the clock .he tried to buy it but couldnt
The Gardaí actually trialled an evo 8 and Octavia vrs a few years back. I heard a story where they caught a Porsche 911 doing something like 150 mph on the m50, when he overtook them in the Evo. I'd say your man in the Porsche till this day still dosent know where that came out of !! :falldownlaugh:
