Hey Folks

Im being driven nuts by my rear suspension! Its rallting like mad, even when barely moving, Checked the lower parts of suspension (not very technically minded but mechanic said all looked ok) so thinking its the top mounts?? Have checked the nuts etc and they seem tights both sides? Where should I start, as always dont wanna go giving it to the mechanic who will keep it for ages without giving him a general direction to go towards!!

Oh by the by its a 98sti impreza with cusco coilovers on it!

you could try to regease them, buy some spray grease(not wd40) and spray them and the top mounts.

it could also be your drop links.
 
You need to give the car to someone who knows what they're at.

I had issues with knocking in the rear of my car, had it with 3 different Subaru dealerships. Shocks were replaced, bushes were replaced, diff mounts were replaced and nothing sorted it :icon_hang:

Gave the car to Dave and the lads @ STi Tuning...... Problem sorted and never looked back :icon_pray:

Turned out to be a driveshaft :new_2gunsfiring_v1:
 
i had one come to me after bein to a lot of places and he was told it was pillowball topmounts needin replacing so he got em and i went to fit em and instead i just tightened up the springs a couple of turns and it fixed it, didn't raise it only a couple of mill but stopped the rattling!

very happy he could return the topmounts aswell!

have you checked the spring collars? the ones that adjust the preload on the spring?? i put on a set of Apexi's a few weeks back and forgot to check they were tight (it was raining) took it for a drive and RATTLE RATTLE RATTLE!!

spanner is on route to tighten!

apexi ones are tiny unlike every other normal sized spanner!
