yeah she was 2 turbo, flyer of a car,
but sold her the day after i bought her for more money so had to let her go.

A blown engine on a twin cam? Thats not often heard of. Them engines are unreal tough. I have a mint ae92 corolla gti in storage for a good few years with 32k miles, one owner from new when I bought it. I will never sell it. I had about 5 twin cams when I was in my early 20's, great little machines. The first corolla gti I had, had 250k miles when I sold it and didnt burn a drop of oil. That black ae86 you have looks class.

oh its not that unheard of id say... i had only 1 gti corolla..nice car ,sold it on the day after i got it...had 7 gt coupes...all uk ...
4 good road cars ,1 of which i kept for a year and a half ....and 1 white one which between me and my mate that had it before me blew 5 engines in less than a year :angry1:..1 of which was not long rebuilt..just a unlucky car..they are a very good car and i will hope to buy another ..but like many toyota engines they do tend to have bigend probs....i do still love the cars ,but only uk spec ones...

I will be slightly different

I still own those ladies :)

MY83 VW Scirocco GTI (swapped to 1.8T Audi TT 225PS engine)

MY75 Mercedes-Benz 300D (W123)

Owned the 93 Renault Clio Williams 2.0 (for rallying)
and Subaru Impreza GT Turbo

Toyota engines tend to have big end problems? I never heard of many at all, I would have thought quite the opposite. My experience of the twin cam engine and the gt4 st205 engines were amazing reliability and never heard many bad stories of either from others. Thats not to say I am correct though.

There may have been an oil starvation issue with that problem car,
A partially blocked coolant pipe killed 2 turbos and an engine in my skyline this year,
Dan

My first car was my Transit connect van which i just sold. Was mapped and a Torque steer animal.
Had a race with a Toyota Cynos once and bet him upto 70mph. On a private road of course.
Second car was the Glanza V in the pic which was also mapped with this giant intercooler i fitted.
Not long after that i got my type R  :subaru:

My first car was a 1.4 vauxhall nova sr I bought up the north.I loved it but the introduction of the NCT spelled the end for that!!! I have photos I ll try get scanned onto
my computer.this pic is a MR2 I drove for a couple of years

Dave

@dan ,it was just 1 of them cars...all pipe's in the car were cleaned well and even a new oil cooler went in at 1 stage... :ponder2:
just the luck of the draw....some good cars sum bad.. :ponder:
