price on a new front windscreen

does anyone know roughly how much a new windscreen costs for a classic shape impreza. miines after getting a nice long crack across it.

mate have you not got windscreen cover on your insurance if you have it wont cost you a thing or it shouldnt,if you dont it shouldnt be much more than about 170 depending on who you get to do it

no dont have cover for it. feckin didnt bother with it at the time. wished id thought more of it now. not to sure who to ask, thought autoglass might be dear, but cant really think of anyone else

Was quoted €1200 for a light weight one last year, but a standard one came in around €200.

It is indeed Gordon, crazy money especially when the insurance company only cover up to €400, there was no way i was covering the rest

There's a chip in mine so better get it sorted quick, cause I aint spending that much either

if its a small chip,you can get it repaired without relacing whole screen,they fill crack with resin/glue i think. autoglass do it as far as i know.

Thats what I'll do alright but no insurance on the car at the moment so no windscreen cover ... Any idea what it'd cost out of my own pocket?
