Prime Time RTE1..

Its was OK, nothing new, same stories. They did have a family who lost a son to a RTA, which was very sad to hear their story.

Primetime choose the way they wanna make people perceive the end result............... meaning they had decided before they had started...... this was pretty obvious through the way it was edited and people they interviewed......

They even tried to suggest that the young lad's death near Killarney was because he was a 'boy racer' without providing any evidence as to the cause of the accident (head on collision with a squad car) - they just gave the parent's tragic story.

These programmes are pure propaganda to get the masses into thinking there is a major problem and "something must be done about it".

They said the lads were "taking the back roads to avoid the drink driving check points" what kind of an image is that trying to get across?

And the lad that told the cameras about him speeding, tryin to loose the cops and getting cought and then sniggerd. that doesnt really help much.

Yeah that guy was a pratt and I reckon he said that just because he thought he was mad or the man. Its the same as the Late Late show a while a go. They had hand picked muppets who where a safe bet to make the car scene look bad on the show.

some of the guys on jon44 have done a few bits and pieces with a few reporters over the years, and they have all ended up the same. They try and trick you into saying stuff, but if you have your wits about you you can be ok. I cant recall what show it was for, but there was one done a while ago, and they couldnt get the answers they wanted, ie protraying a bad image, so they didnt use his interview.

Saw that show last nite, it was a joke, the funniest part had to be the guy saying people where trying to immitate computer games, or films like fast ant the furious. That for me had me laughing for ages.

dont forget if you never heard of Gay Byrne or the AA your menace to society.

It was obvious to me that most of the guys were just knobs! Booting around in 1980's shiteboxes. Some of the cars looked stolen. Might be wrong but the Volvo estate surely isnt borrowed from the parents.

Ya saw it from start to finish....
For feck sake talk about a one sided argument.
In fairness we where all 17/18 at one satge........( i know for alot of ye guys
it's a distant memory   ) but at that age if some one points a TV camera
in your face and all the lads/ girls watching of course your going to get a bit of bravado.......

As for the young lad from Cork, a tragic accident and such a hughe loss but with respect to
the familly, that crash had nothing to do with "boy racing" .............i don't think i need to
go into any details but the media really put a nasty spin on that crash.............

The only positive thing i saw was the track organized by a Garda and some locals up in Donegal
fair play to them
What a simple and positive solution to an over complicated probelm.

Niall.

yes track was a good idea...................  especially for RWD lads.....................  More practice then out to try on roads......
