Hi lads just wondering is there a simple way to get the car to turn over without firing so i can get some oil pressure after changing the oil?

disconnect the crank position sensor at the front of the block, under where you fill the oil, give the key a few short twists then reconnect and fire her up

Cheers for that. I was also wondering what is the oil capacity? my car is an sti 3.

Never done it myself. I just slowly fill the new filter with oil to allow air to escape and filter to become saturated.

Def dont think this is need either lads...just like the lads said, filling the filter before, and making sure you put a seal of oil on the filter gasket is needed.

Whats the difference between starting after oil change and starting the car after not starting it for a few days??

Nothing!

The only time the oil needs to be primed in this manner is when you install a brand new turbo. You disconnect the block connector on the coil packs and it wont fire. Then you crank it for 10-15 secs upto 5 times. This will pump the oil round and prime the new turbo with oil. Then let it idle for 30mins without reving.

As for capacity Matt is right. It is 4.5ltr but also fill the oil filter. Never just pour 4.5ltr in because when you drain your oil, even when hot, you'll never get it all out so put in 4ltr or so then run it for 5-10mins and let it settle. Then top up.

From the low mark on the dip stick to the full mark is 0.8ltr so even having only 4ltr in the engine it will show on the dipstick.

Hope this helps

That's the Cam shaft position sensor not the Crankshaft position sensor. The crank sensor is in the dead centre of the block at the front, right above the crank pulley.

I think it would be easier to get the coil packs, and this would guarantee it wont start without spark

Cheers lads
Disconnected the cam position sensor, worked a treat!
