prob changing downpipe

Trying to change the downpipe at the min on my v4 wrx for one that I have from a v4 sti as my one broke but ive discovered that my one has an extra sensor after the cat and there is no hole for it on the one from the sti so wondering does anyone know what it is and will the car run ok without it
 
Cheers dave was talking to dec and he thought thats what it might be but wasnt sure have them swapped over now and running no issues
