Prodrive and Sti parts not seen subaru by insurance this is by prob im having as they well not pay out on my crash because of prodrive wheels and sti back boxes even tho i didnt fitted the parts as they where on the car from new :angry1:

but like i thought it was the engine they where worryed about wheels are not damaged or the backboxes plus they never told me they canceled my insurance 6days ago and iv been driving around plus paid my insurane thur

Strange they picked prodrive wheels & sti back boxes.

Both of which can be specified as new from subaru so hardly an after-market product.

I think you should look for the assessor report & I think you'll find its the coilovers you had fitted were the real problem!

Bloody Hell Echo. Not good. Im sure this can be sorted out with a few phone calls and proof of payment.
Most people have alloy wheels nowadays so I cant see how that can prevent a payout. Thats just ridiculous. If the wheels and backboxes came on the car from factory (as optional extras) then again it shouldnt cause a problem.

Similarly, what if someone with an Merc has AMG wheels, are they equally in trouble?

Good luck with getting it sorted.

Ducking and diving by the insurance company. Right shower of thieves :wall:
Up to you now to do all the running around get paper stamped and signed stating
you drove the car like that when you bought it and they insured it then.
(no problem taking your money though)

Did you mention that the car was an import when insuring it?

If so I'd give these guys a shout to see where you stand

I remember a few years back when I was insuring an import civic vti there was a loading of 15% (I think). When I questioned this I was told because it is an import there may be differences in spec etc. To account for this they loaded the policy. If you mentioned the car was an import I'm sure they charged you extra for this. Might be worth asking the exact spec of the vehicle they are comparing your car to?

not standard for a subaru or any dealer though mate!!!
doesnt mean anything that a dealer fitted them...
such a grey area...hope you get sorted!!!

Not sorted yet car is in the drive way last 4 months it might be dragged tru the courts yet but its with the ombinsman and axa and they have 21days for every letter so there taking there sweet time plus hope to get all my finance money back as its an open case i have to keep paying for the car till axa cough up :angry1: 500e a month on scrap metal

You need to employ your own assesor. They normally take around 10% of the claim as payment but they normally get you 20% more anyway!!

I told my insurers that my legacy had a rear spoiler (a genuine subaru part) and they withdrew cover! Its a joke. Eventually they agreed to reinstate it but they said that the spoiler wasnt covered!!! i also put after market alloys on it and again they refused to cover the wheels. So be warned lads, ANY changes, you need to notify the insurers.

Will the insurance company refuse to insure u for the likes a an exhaust and air filter or just charge u more ?
