Prospective new owner - Does anyone know this Subaru?

im only going by sti tuning where i got a tweek a month ago and was 350, where did u get 250 from also his site tells clearly the price of an ecumap

As I said, my prices were a little off because Simon used to offer a 15% discount when he came over to ireland, up to SI and then down here... He obviously does not offer that anymore... Actually says on simon's website, tweak maps from £150plus vat so I was quoting more expensive at £180 (€230)... The more expensive map you quoted at £350inc VAT is where he is putting a fresh map on an ecu that was previously mapped by someone else, bob's website price for same is £405 inc vat...

If you look on bob's and simon's websites you can see the prices to compare... Bob doesn't quote tweak maps on his either for ecu's that he has previously mapped but from memory it was £180 when I was last mapped by him...

Both great mappers btw...

If mapped with ecutek already £352.50GBP otherwise £646.62GBP.
Sorry to quote in pounds but no upto speed on exchange rate and my mobile card machine only works in pounds.

Thought he offered a 15% discount coming over here but maybe not anymore... Still nearly €100 less than what you quoted...

£646.62 from AIB this morning would cost you approx €808 so a difference of €37 to what ker99 posted!!

I think it's safe to say that an ecutek map would cost approx €800 no matter who does it. Buying your first Subaru is confusing enough without splitting hairs over the cost of half a tank of petrol!

I just used xe to convert so obviously nowhere near as accurate as AIB. Not much difference there but the other price diffs still stand.

he says its never been mapped so ur prices are no good to the lad

Those prices were just to confirm to you what i was talking about as you didnt seem to realise what i was trying to say... The cost of the initial map still stands (although my conversion was inaccurate) as relevant and so do subsequent map prices

Any saving is a saving in the recession

just admit u were wrong  only messing

My conversion was inaccurate!!! ... Ah, I knew I'd lost when I realised he was no longer offering the 15% discount, thats where the main diffence lay on the initial map price  :icon_sad: .. Good battle though

You can also buy second hand ECU with Ecutek license on it for around 200 eur .... and sell yours..

That's what I did anyways

Hi William, as I said to you on the other forum i'm almost certain this car is or at least was in the Drogheda area. The owner is a grown man and I can honestly say i've never so much as seen him over the speed limit. As the lads are saying a map might not be a bad idea both for yourself to get the most from the car and also to have some piece of mind in the car. If you could factor the cost into your own budget and also any deal made with the owner may be a good idea. Best of luck with your search.

There are a few 02 STi's on donedeal ranging from €6000 up to €11000 but the majority of them are price around the €8000 mark. So for a wrx your only going to be looking any €5000-€6000. Defo wouldn't pay any more. But have you not looked at the STi, there no major cost to insure one and the tax is the same. Running cost isn't much more either.

I'd be looking at the STi's that are for sale. You'll only want one in the end. :subaru:
