ps3 problem

sorry to hear that man but you should have gone for an xbox, fix it and flog it.

Warranty is only a word, Under the Sale of goods and Supply of Services ACT it is reasonable to expect that the product will still be working for many years. Regardless of where a company is based they must agree to this act to sell in this country. They can't sell a product with 12month warranty knowing it will breakdown in 18 months or whatever and if there is a known fault with that model they don't have a legal leg to stand on.

My brother had a tv that was 3 years old and well out of warranty, it kept switching off went back to the shop and they wouldn't entertain him so got on to consumer rights and got all this info, filled an application to small claims court for €8, before it go anywhere near court he got a new tv

Hope this helps Marko

No bother mate

I'd start off with wherever ya bought it, then maybe a Sony store or Sony Ireland. But after that get on to Consumer Rights for full details of your options.

Actually it might be better to ring Consumer Rights first so ya can quote what they say when talking to Sony :ponder:

I don't think Sony Ireland have anything to do with PS3, a friend of my dads was service manager in Sony Ireland & remember him saying Sony use someone else for distribution/service etc for their computer stuff.

our one here in the house was sent back, its my housemates one.

He brought it back to the shop it was bought in and it was then sent on to sony to sort out.

the problem happened because the machine was switched off at the back while the power was still on (ie the green light). This corrupts the hard drive and screws it over.

Its like you know the way your saving something or downloading something on it and it says do not turn off the power, well could this have happened?? its something to do with the high def i think and that it uses so much space or something.

the screen frose up one night while i had been playin and would respond by the controller or reset so i knocked off by the rear switch and has got progressivily worse since then!!!!
now it wont save anything!!!!
