OK my 94 wrx wagon is only boosting up to 4psi so i reset the ECU and went for a spin and its up at about 10psi for about 10sec and now its back to 4psi :wall:whats that all about any help
 
Sounds like a boost leak,

AFAIK your model should boost 0.9 Bar (13.05 PSI) considering it hits 10 PSI (0.68 Bar) peak suggests its not a problem with your turbo or atcuator or solenoid.

But to be sure its not a problem with any of the above you should book it in with one of the traders here and have a diagnostic check done, and get them to find the cause the low boost :thumbsup:
 
Sorry to hear about the job Rob....

first thing to do is clean the actuator, take off boost pipes and inspect for damage/cracks etc.... Mine done the same a while ago and found a small crack in the end of the pipe. sorted that out quick enough and back on form again...
 
Had all vac pipes and boost sol out to clean them and all look ok,How do i go about cleaning the actuator,the boost sol is making more nose now that its clean is that a bad thing?
 
OK had all the air intake out and found that the hose from the end of the sol to intake box was broke off,so i fixed it and reset the ECU went for a spin and still the same,can i do some kind of a vacuum test and if so how?car only running 3 - 4psi for the last few mounths :angry1:
