1. yes, IBAN and BIC plus name of account holder are all that are needed to make a payment. There are dodgy ways to get money out too, but would involve falsifying your signature etc and bank should cover you if this happens.
A good "safety net" is to open a new account only for receiving this payment, once received move the money to your normal account and then close the new account once emptied. Acts as a "fire-wall" in a way and prevents someone (who you don't know / trust) outside our legal jurisdiction from having valid banking details for you. Doesn't cost you anything to do this and gives you peace of mind.
2. Don't accept "over" payment (amounts larger than what you are asking for)... some criminal gangs love transferring way more, then get you to send back the over payment and is a way for them to hide / launder money and can get you dragged into investigations.
3. Paypal is great, but charge a big fee... as you won't part with the car till full funds are received and as such have nothing to lose I wouldn't bother with PP and just get them to transfer the full amount to your account (strongly advise setting up a new account as per above if you have any doubts / worries).
On that note, make sure you personally get confirmation from Your bank the money is received before you release the car to anyone. Don't accept "payment advice slip" / "proof of payment" from sender's bank etc.
